The mask is the main attribute in Malang Mask Show. The representation of Malang masks has undergone adaptation along with the development of the times, which were originally made of wood. This study aims to analyze the Malang mask material from the adaptation process of fiber raw materials as its component. The research approach method is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques using observation and interviews as the unit of analysis descriptively. The results of the study on the adaptation of the raw material for making Malang masks from wood into fiber as a medium of learning and the preservation of local culture as a medium of learning in schools. The technique of making Malang masks with fiber material uses the basic principles of printing and finishing techniques in the painting process using acrylic paint. An important finding from this research is that the Malang Mask making material using fiber has long durability, does not rot because it is synthetic

This paper presents the extent of adopting E-media in the Electronics Technology curriculum as an alternative instructional tool in developing the students’ competencies in measuring instruments, symbols, and circuit diagrams.  The study found out that the five competencies under Safety were all given a descriptive rating of Very Satisfactory. This implies that the instructors observed the highest degree of safety protocols in their respective shops in the activity's conduct.  The adoption of E-media in electronics, technology classes serve to improve students' learning capability to master the subject matter. Using the E-media facilities as an instructional tool, it facilitated the learning process. E-media's adoption as an additional instructional tool supplemented the identified competencies in the safety shop subject. It allows students to learn the basic principles of electronics technology, whereby interaction is encouraged and theories are put into practice in actual hands-on activities.  The study suggested that the adoption of E-media in Electrical technology classes is continually done and practiced. Regular monitoring and updating of materials are also necessary for ensuring that the use of E-media is properly implemented.

l-2-hydroxyglutarate (l-2HG) is a trifunctional building block and highly attractive for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. The natural l-lysine biosynthesis pathway of the amino acid producer Corynebacterium glutamicum was extended for the fermentative production of l-2HG. Since l-2HG is not native to the metabolism of C. glutamicum metabolic engineering of a genome-streamlined l-lysine overproducing strain was required to enable the conversion of l-lysine to l-2HG in a six-step synthetic pathway. To this end, l-lysine decarboxylase was cascaded with two transamination reactions, two NAD(P)-dependent oxidation reactions and the terminal 2-oxoglutarate-dependent glutarate hydroxylase. Of three sources for glutarate hydroxylase the metalloenzyme CsiD from Pseudomonas putida supported l-2HG production to the highest titers. Genetic experiments suggested a role of succinate exporter SucE for export of l-2HG and improving expression of its gene by chromosomal exchange of its native promoter improved l-2HG production. The availability of Fe2+ as cofactor of CsiD was identified as a major bottleneck in the conversion of glutarate to l-2HG. As consequence of strain engineering and media adaptation product titers of 34 ± 0 mM were obtained in a microcultivation system. The glucose-based process was stable in 2 L bioreactor cultivations and a l-2HG titer of 3.5 g L−1 was obtained at the higher of two tested aeration levels. Production of l-2HG from a sidestream of the starch industry as renewable substrate was demonstrated. To the best of our knowledge, this study is the first description of fermentative production of l-2HG, a monomeric precursor used in electrochromic polyamides, to cross-link polyamides or to increase their biodegradability.

This study advances the findings that political party social media adaptation and social media attention have contributed to the election campaigning in North Cyprus. The 2018 general election success could be understood by looking deeply into the social media attention of political parties and electorates. While the sample that has been chosen for this study shows different patterns in their content of the social media shares, it is true to say that this study put an emphasis on the elements of political ads through social media account. The findings show that political parties in North Cyprus have communicated through social media, especially in horse-race periods compared with the other periods.

The increase in the polarization level and identity divisions of the Polish society have become possible due to the existence of new media, including social media, especially Facebook. It is in the space of mass media where individual identity narratives, concerning the experience of individual memory of individual actors and the interpretation of history, take place. Among the important events in the recent history of Poland, which have become a part of the identity division and polarization processes, were the partially free elections on June 4, 1989. The quality and quantity of the material presented on the 30th anniversary of these elections on the official Facebook accounts of the main Polish TV news stations confirms that the media remain not neutral to key events and phenomena in the social space. Moreover, they contribute to deepening and consolidating certain moods and the phenomenon of polarization. The mediatization process affects not only the adaptation of individual units or institutions to the mentality of the media, but also the phenomenon of media adaptation to the expectations of its users.

In the comics with superhero genre, the reader will see a villain figure as the opponent of superhero. In September 2019, Bumilangit in collaboration with Gramedia Pustaka published the comic Gundala: Destiny as the complementary media adaptation to the movie Gundala: This Country Needs Patriots which was also published in the same year. This comic presents the figure of Sancaka against Pengkor. Unlike the movie, the main point of narration in the comic is from the perspective of Pengkor as the villain. The comic’s narrative shows the story of Pengkor's childhood until he became a mafia who is feared and respected by many people. With his power, Pengkor has both socially or politically dominance. His power also works with his 10 adopted children as the victims of his subordination. However, Pengkor’s actions to create power over his children were carried out without coercion and repression. In this way, his adopted children obeyed and glorified Pengkor with the nickname 'Father'. By using the structural theory of Tzvetan Todorov and the hegemony of power from Antonio Gramsci, this study aims to dismantle the ambivalent power attitude of Pengkor as the villain figure in the comic Gundala: Destiny.
