Abstract Siamese network based trackers formulate the visual tracking mission as an image matching process by regression and classification branches, which simplifies the network structure and improves tracking accuracy. However, there remain many problems as described below. 1) The lightweight neural networks decreases feature representation ability. The tracker is easy to fail under the disturbing distractors (e.g., deformation and similar objects) or large changes in viewing angle. 2) The tracker cannot adapt to variations of the object. 3) The tracker cannot reposition the object that has failed to track. To address these issues, we first propose a novel match filter arbiter based on the Euclidean distance histogram between the centers of multiple candidate objects to automatically determine whether the tracker fails. Secondly, Hopcroft-Karp algorithm is introduced to select the winners from the dynamic template set through the backtracking process, and object relocation is achieved by comparing the Gradient Magnitude Similarity Deviation between the template and the winners. The experiments show that our method obtains better performance on several tracking benchmarks, i.e., OTB100, VOT2018, GOT-10k and LaSOT, compared with state-of-the-art methods.

This research aim is to extract causal pathways, particularly disease causal pathways, through cause-effect relation (CErel) extraction from web-board documents. The causal pathways benefit people with a comprehensible representation approach to disease complication. A causative/effect-concept expression is based on a verb phrase of an elementary discourse unit (EDU) or a simple sentence. The research has three main problems; how to determine CErel on an EDU-concept pair containing both causative and effect concepts in one EDU, how to extract causal pathways from EDU-concept pairs having CErel and how to indicate and represent implicit effect/causative-concept EDUs as implicit mediators with comprehension on extracted causal pathways. Therefore, we apply EDU’s word co-occurrence concept (wrdCoc) as an EDU-concept and the self-Cartesian product of a wrdCoc set from the documents for extracting wrdCoc pairs having CErel into a wrdCoc-pair set from the documents after learning CErel on wrdCoc pairs by supervised-machine learning. The wrdCoc-pair set is used for extracting the causal pathways by wrdCoc-pair matching through the documents. We then propose transitive closure and a dynamic template to indicate and represent the implicit mediators with the explicit ones. In contrast to previous works, the proposed approach enables causal-pathway extraction with high accuracy from the documents.

A test blueprint/test template, also known as the table of specifications, represents the structure of a test. It has been highly recommended in assessment textbook to carry out the preparation of a test with a test blueprint. This chapter focuses on modeling a dynamic test paper template using multi-objective optimization algorithm and makes use of the template in dynamic generation of examination test paper. Multi-objective optimization-based models are realistic models for many complex optimization problems. Modeling a dynamic test paper template, similar to many real-life problems, includes solving multiple conflicting objectives satisfying the template specifications.

Errors and inefficiency may be caused by manual processing of complex templates for the preparation and management of engineering survey reports. To address this problem, this paper analyzes the multidimensional variable features of professional field documents and proposes a generation model of standardized reports based on a four-dimensional dynamic template. This approach splits the standardized report into multiple parts to construct a hierarchical tree that represents the report structure according to the report rules, then stores the tree in a graph database, and finally generates the desired report dynamically by retrieving the relational tree for the template and obtaining the relevant data. The model has been applied to the engineering geological survey report system and is shown to improve the working efficiency and data accuracy of the report preparation. Results indicate that the model is feasible and effective.
