During the sixty-year period of existence of domestic large-panel housing construction, this type of housing remains the most popular due to its affordability. The transition to flexible technologies for the production of panel buildings makes it possible to create high-quality and comfortable housing. However, there is some return to the construction of panel buildings with flat monotonous expressionless facades. The article describes a method for creating stepped facades using overlay panels of external walls, the connection of decorative external layers in which «overlap» is made. This makes it possible to create stepped facades in a simple technological way, hide part of the vertical seams, increase the output of products, and simplify the achievement of the desired apartment layout. The method is protected by a Eurasian patent. Keywords: stepped exterior panel, overhead exterior panel, «overlap» connection, loop precast-monolithic connections, stepped facade, apartment layouts, multi-hollow plates.

In order to ensure desirable overall performance between interior panel and exterior panel for precast concrete sandwich panels, the shear performance of a new composite connector is investigated in this paper through the experiment of shear specimens, including 4 groups of bilateral shear test specimens and 8 groups of unilateral shear test specimens. The connector’s shear capability and shear failure process phenomenon of destruction of all specimens are obtained. Then the effect rule on shear performance of connector from positional relation of connector and distribution reinforcement and concrete strength are gained. The experimental results and analysis show that the shear failure model is bending shear failure of connector’s reinforcing steel bar, which is brittle failure; the measured value of shear force of experiment compared to the measures values for the actual project, the new composite connector provides an enough safety reserve; The relative position of connector and distribution reinforcement and concrete strength have no influence on the ultimate bearing shear capability; The shear performance of the new composite connector could satisfy the use requirement of sandwich wall panels based on the text results. Furthermore, the connectors perform superb anchoring bond and deformation capability. According to the results and analysis, the new composite connector could be popularly used in engineering practice.

The sound transmission loss (STL) of the acoustic parts in the vehicle was proposed to be computed using the Sound Pressure Level measured at the several locations inside the vehicle and the transmitted Sound Intensity Level on the vehicles exterior panel, which the acoustic treated vehicle passenger compartment is assumed as a small reverberation room. The necessary parts retrofits and acoustic treatments for Sound transmission loss tests of the acoustic parts in the vehicle were listed. The values of the appropriate number and positions of the loud speakers, microphones and sound intensity probes for Sound transmission loss of the acoustic parts in the vehicle were recommended. The in vehicle sound transmission loss tests of the acoustic parts such as the doors, carpets, wheel house etc. were achieved in the semi-anechoic room. Based on the door system, the correlation work has been done among the methods of the proposed in vehicle STL test, the reverberation - semi-anechoic chamber buck STL test and SEA analysis.

Small pieces of metal are generated during trimming of automotive body panels. Commonly referred to as slivers, these pieces can be imprinted into the surface of stamped panels. This may require metalfinish of every stamped exterior panel. The objective of the paper is to study the influence of trimming conditions on quality of trimmed surface and to modify the trimming process to eliminate slivers and burrs from the trimmed surface. Suggested solution includes two measures: 1) building an elastic support of the offal eliminating bending of the area of the blank being trimmed off; 2) creating the preference of crack propagation from the lower shearing edge by machining a small radius on the upper shearing edge.
