A steel structure in a nuclear power plant is typically constructed next to major safety-related structures. Accordingly, the structural integrity of the steel structure must be achieved until the safety-related building is damaged by external forces. Consequently, the steel structure should have seismic capacity while maintaining the structural integrity of the surrounding safety-related structure. An optimized method for the seismic capacity against the beyond design earthquake was developed to reflect this capacity concept.

Introduction: It is conjectured that the cyclic Legendre pairs of odd lengths >1 always exist. Such a pair consists of two functions a, b: G→Z, whose values are +1 or −1, and whose periodic autocorrelation function adds up to the constant value −2 (except at the origin). Here G is a finite cyclic group and Z is the ring of integers. These conditions are fundamental and the closely related structure of Hadamard matrices having a two circulant core and double border is incompletely described in literature, which makes its study especially relevant. Purpose: To describe the two-border two-circulant-core construction for Legendre pairs having three new lengths. Results: To construct new Legendre pairs we use the subsets X={x∈G: a(x)=–1} and Y={x∈G: b(x)=–1} of G. There are 20 odd integers v less than 200 for which the existence of Legendre pairs of length v is undecided. The smallest among them is v=77. We have constructed Legendre pairs of lengths 91, 93 and 123 reducing thereby the number of undecided cases to 17. In the last section of the paper we list some new examples of cyclic Legendre pairs for lengths v≤123. Practical relevance: Hadamard matrices are used extensively in the problems of error-free coding, and compression and masking of video information. Programs for search of Hadamard matrices and a library of constructed matrices are used in the mathematical network “mathscinet.ru” together with executable on-line algorithms

Education is a related structure that can never be defined or even exist as separate from human beings. Behavioral, cognitive, and constructivist paradigms each try to explain learning with different concepts and principles. Well, did these theories survive the distance education process? Let's say each theory survived in distance education. Then the following questions come up: What does motivation mean for these theories? How do these theories make the motivational structure sustainable in distance education? Aiming at a comprehensive discussion of these questions, the chapter offers many answers and brings many different questions to mind. This chapter will guide instructors and instructional designers to design efficient learning opportunities for learners.

“Quasi-elliptic” functions can be given a ring structure in two different ways, using either ordinary multiplication, or convolution. The map between the corresponding standard bases is calculated. A related structure has appeared recently in the computation of Feynman integrals. The two approaches are related by a sequence of polynomials closely tied to the Eulerian polynomials.

In the conditions of Western Transbaikalia, Chlaenius tristis reticulatus Motschulsky, 1844 has a one-year late spring – early summer life cycle with the hibernation of a young generation of beetles. The interpretation of their life cycle is based on the study of sex and age-related structure of imago, the seasonal activity of generative females, the above-ground activity of larvae, and stages of the development of beetles in the laboratory conditions. The changes in the seasonal activity of beetles on meadows with different soil moisture (steppificated, moistened, and marshy meadows) were identified.
