API5L Steel is known as one of the most useful materials on earth which is also subject to corrosion in certain environments. Many methods have been used to minimize its corrosion, but the use of inhibitors is widely accepted. The use of green inhibitors has gained wide usage because of their environmental friendliness. The theoretical investigations of isoniazid as corrosion inhibitor was carried out using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), whereas theoretically, quantum chemical parameters and molecular dynamic simulations of the inhibitor were studied. The analyses of the experimental results showed that the expired drug (isoniazid) decreased the corrosion rate of API5L steel in a 0.5M H2SO4 medium. The inhibition efficiency decreased with a decrease in inhibitor concentration. FTIR results showed that the inhibition mechanism is physical through the functional groups present in the expired drug. Relying on quantum chemical parameters and molecular dynamic simulations results, the adsorption/binding strength of the concerned inhibitor molecule on API5L steel surface follows a good order. The computed adsorption/binding energy values (Eads) for the various isolated concentrations from the inhibitor indicate the adsorption process to be non-covalent (physiosorption) which is in good agreement with the literature.

This comprehensive review highlighted how the expired drugs manage corrosion reactions on metal/alloy surfaces, especially types of carbon/mild steel, Sabic iron, copper, and aluminium in NaCl or acid solution. Several types of expired drugs and the optimum conditions presented in this review were summarized from relevant studies. The performance of expired drugs which covers inhibition efficiency, inhibition mechanisms, and metal surface analysis was informed. The contribution of the chemical composition, molecular structure, compatible treatment conditions, and some corrosion analysis methods were mentioned. Current challenges and future prospects were also discussed for further investigations and developments to obtain superior inhibitors and save the environment.

Introduction: Storage and reports of narcotics and psychotropics in pharmacy must be carried out according to standard operating procedures which are based on legislation on maintaining safety, efficacy, and quality of the drugs. Objective: This study aimed to observe the implementation process of narcotics and psychotropic storing and reporting in accordance to the law in force in several pharmacies in Denpasar City. Methods: Five biggest pharmacies located in Denpasar City were picked by a purposive sampling method. This study used a descriptive observational method to provide a brief overview of the term and condition of narcotics and psychotropic storing and reporting that implemented in real-time in the pharmacies. Results: Overall, the study revealed that the majority of pharmacies were successfully in term of fulfilling the various aspects of narcotics and psychotropic storing and reporting, including the storage of drugs at the special cabinets, in special the implementation process of narcotics and psychotropic that cited in the Regulation of The Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 73 of conditions according to safety and stability, FEFO and FIFO systems, manual and electronic stock cards system, separation of damaged and/or expired drug, inventory stock, and compliance and completeness of reporting using SIPNAP. Conclusion: Responsible pharmacist must always evaluate the storage and reporting of narcotics and psychotropic in the pharmacy to guarantee quality and maintain suitability of the pharmaceutical services process according to established standards. Keywords: forensic pharmacy, storing and reporting, narcotics and psychotropic, legislation

The effect of Sodium Diclofenac (SD) as an inhibitor of pure iron corrosion in a 1.0 N of sulfuric acid was studied spectrally using a UV-VIS at different temperatures of 343.15, 323.15, 303.15 K. The concentration of dissolved iron was determined spectrally using phenanthroline method. The absorbance of each solution was measured at different times, and the data obtained were used to calculate the corrosion rate, which was found to be a zero-order reaction in the presence and absence of the SD inhibitor. The absorbance was decreased with an increase in inhibitor concentration and an increase in temperature. However, the inhibition efficiency was increased with inhibitor concentration an increase. The inhibitor is adsorbed on the surface of the iron particles according to the Langmuir and Kinetic-thermodynamic model of adsorption isotherm. The results indicated that the reaction is endothermic and unspontaneous. Quantum chemical parameters such as the highest & lowest occupied molecular orbital energy (EHOMO) & (ELUMO), energy gap (ΔE), were calculated and correlated to the experimental data.
