This paper describes recent advances in the effect of soil creep on the time-dependent deformation of deep braced excavation. The effect of soil creep is generally investigated using the observational method and the plain-strain numerical simulation method. The observational method is more applicable for deep braced excavations in soft clays constructed using the top-down method. The plain-strain numerical simulation method can be conveniently used for parametric analysis, but it is unable to capture the spatial characteristics of soil creep effect on lateral wall deflections and ground movements. The additional lateral wall deflections and ground movements that are generated due to the soil creep effect can account for as large as 30% of the total displacements, which highlights the importance of considering the effect of soil creep in deep braced excavations through soft clays. The magnitude of the displacements due to soil creep depends on various factors, such as excavation depth, elapsed period, unsupported length, and strut stiffness. Parametric analyses have indicated several effective measures that can be taken in practice to mitigate the detrimental effect of soil creep on the deformation of deep braced excavation. Based on the literature review, potential directions of the related future research work are discussed. This paper should be beneficial for both researchers and engineers focusing on mitigating the adverse effect of soil creep on the stability of deep braced excavations.

Abstract—Pneumonia was an inflammation that occurs in the lungs accompanied by exudation and consolidation of microorganisms. In Indonesia, the prevalence of pneumonia continues to increase. Treatment of pneumonia uses antibiotic therapy. The use of antibiotics needs to be controlled by evaluating the quality of antibiotic use to prevent negative effects that can occur on patients, such as antibiotic resistance. The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of antibiotic use in pneumonia patients. This study did with observational method with cross-sectional design. The study was conducted in August-September 2019. Qualitative evaluations did with Gyssen method. The results of 35 medical record samples that fulfill the criteria showed that 21.43% of cases category 0; 16.67% of cases category I; 0% of cases category II C; 33.34% of cases in category II B; 4.76% of cases category II A; 0% of cases category III B; 0% of cases category III A; 0% of cases category IV D; 19.05% of cases category IV C; 4.76% of cases category IV B; 61.90% of cases category IV A; 0% of cases category V; 0% of cases category VI. Thus, rational cases (category I) were 21,43% and irrational cases (categories I-IV) were 78,57%.

Diarrhea is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality, especially in children under five. Some of the causes of disease are clean water and disposal of feces, both of which are influenced by human behavior. This research is research using the observational method with a case-control study design. The samples taken in this study were toddlers (0-59 months) who suffered from diarrhea and the houses around the patients who did not have diarrhea. The data used in this study is secondary data from related agencies and primary data obtained from interviews and observations. From the survey results, 31.1% suffer from diarrhea, and 68.9% are not sick. Then from the bivariate results with X2 5% analysis received four variables that are not related to diarrheal disease in toddlers, namely the variable of using clean water sources (0.297), behavior variable choosing clean water (0.227), behavior variable transporting clean water (1,000), behavioral variable using clean water (0.073) and one related variable, namely the variable protecting clean water (0.021).

Air pollution is a problem that needs attention, especially pollution by heavy metals such as lead (Pb). This research was conducted to measure the levels of Pb in the blood of people who do a lot of daily activities on the highway in the Ulaanbaatar region, Mongolia, so that an overview of the level of exposure to Pb in the air is obtained. The study was conducted using an observational method by measuring the blood directly from the participants using an atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The participants involved were 20 people who met the criteria. The results showed that the average level of Pb in the blood of people who had daily activities on the highway was 8.97 ppm. Where the smallest level is 5.12 ppm and the highest level is 12.06 ppm. This value is far above the threshold value determined by WHO, which is 0.05 ppm. Therefore, it can be concluded that the air quality in the Ulaanbaatar area is in the poor category with a high level of Pb exposure.

This research analyzes about word formation process of slang word used by gamers in the game online “Mobile Legend”. The purposes of this research are to classify and to analyze the types of word formation processes of slang words used by gamers  using theory word formation process by  Yule (2010) and  Katamba (2005) and to describe the meaning of slang words used by gamers. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data is formed of slang word in chat feature by gamers. In collecting the data, the researcher used  participant observational method (SLC). Then, the analysis in this research, the researcher used agih method (distributional method) and used Segmenting Immediate Constituents Techniques (Teknik Bagi Unsur langsung/BUL) as the basic technique and delition technique (teknik lesap) as an advanced technique. The results of this research are stated as follows. Firstly, six types of word formation process  in slang word used by gamers; abbreviation, acronym, borrowing, compounding, multiple process, and clipping. Then, the researcher found twelve slang words that utterances by gamer. While for word formation process, the type that dominant is compounding. In the meaning of slang word, the researcher only finds two from seven types of meaning by Leech (1981), they are: firstly social meaning and secondly connotative meaning.

This research is aimed at: 1) describing the sound correspondence set of two sub dialects; 2) describing kinds of proto phonemes pattern in Jambi Malay sub dialect  and Bungo Malay sub dialect. There are three steps conducted in the research, they are collecting data, analyzing data, and presenting the result of analysis. In collecting data, the writer used observational method by applying the elicitation technique, which is continued by several techniques, i. e  facing conversation, taking note, and recording technique. In analyzing data, the writer also used qualitative and quantitative approaches. Qualitative approach is used in order to show the sound correspondence between two sub dialects. Then, the comparative method is used to compare  and determine the inheritance pattern toward two sub dialects. The result of analysis are: 1) there are two of sound correspondences rules that mostly found in ultima and penultima position. namel  r ~ R /- η # /and  ə ~ ə /# b – In addition, inherited linearly, inherited with changes, and linearly with lost. The linearly inherited can be seen from some vocal of protolanguage, /*i/, /*a/, /*ə/  also consonant /*b/, /*l/, /*m/, /*p/, /*g/, /*s/, /*η/, /*k/, /*h/. Furthermore, dealing with Proto Austronesia language, it is also found that some proto phonemes are showing the alteration, namely innovation.

This study aims to determine the application of an integrated service system in several Central Java districts to protect Indonesian workers. This research uses the observational method. This study involved seven districts contributing to Indonesian workers in the province of Central Java. The sample districts include Banyumas, Cilacap, Pati, Kendal, Sragen, Grobogan and Wonosobo. The data were obtained utilizing field observations, interviews, quinones and literature studies, analyzed using the Miles and Huberman models, namely data reduction, data tabulation, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The study results show that the One-Stop Integrated Service also helps reduce Illegal Indonesian Migrant Workers and prevents document falsification. Limited Human Resources (HR) who can act as operator staff at LTSA office outlets are also a factor in the ineffectiveness of the One-Stop Integrated Service. This means that the presence of LTSA in various districts/cities in Central Java can facilitate the role of BP2MI in carrying out its functions. However, it cannot run effectively as a whole.
