Epistemological Proposal on the Concept of Hybridity for Libraries

The Information Science field has discussed different shared specifications of a conceptualization which comprises the diversity of support, processes, resources and people by which the library needs to adapt. The question here is about the conceptual identification of the terminology ‘hybrid libraries; The aim is to contribute to the literature in the Information Science field by proposing a concept of hybrid libraries which comprises the social sphere, in terms of the developments existing in the society, in libraries.

The use of hybrid data-dependent and -independent acquisition spectral libraries empower dual-proteome profiling

ABSTRACTIn the context of bacterial infections, it is imperative that physiological responses can be studied in an integrated manner, meaning a simultaneous analysis of both the host and the pathogen responses. To improve the sensitivity of detection, data-independent acquisition (DIA) based proteomics was found to outperform data-dependent acquisition (DDA) workflows in identifying and quantifying low abundant proteins. Here, by making use of representative bacterial pathogen/host proteome samples, we report an optimized hybrid library generation workflow for data-independent acquisition mass spectrometry relying on the use of data-dependent and in silico predicted spectral libraries. When compared to searching DDA experiment-specific libraries only, the use of hybrid libraries significantly improved peptide detection to an extent suggesting that infection relevant host-pathogen conditions could be profiled in sufficient depth without the need of a priori bacterial pathogen enrichment when studying the bacterial proteome.GRAPHICAL ABSTRACT

Information Literacy Skills Among Students of Higher Education Institutions With Special Reference to Tamil Nadu

All academic institutions find rapid growth in computer networks and the use of computerized databases to access information in their libraries. Most academic libraries include hybrid libraries, which have e-library features and traditional library services. It is difficult to use electronic information resources effectively without training. Students need to obtain the skills to get information quickly and efficiently from electronic sources and become what is often referred to as information literate. The human being is blessed with a unique ability to create something from nothing. He creates, originates, innovates, generates, accumulates knowledge, produces works of art, and discovers the truth about the world he lives in. What sets the information age apart from prior periods in history is the label we put on these intellectual creations. These days the economy of nations depends upon buying and selling facts, ideas, knowledge. This chapter explores information literacy skills amongst higher education students.

Visual Information for digital inclusion process in hybrid libraries and librarians’ action

El conjunto de acciones y condiciones culturales de una sociedad produce información, de tal manera que actúa directamente sobre el desarrollo, uso de servicios y bienes por parte de dicha sociedad. Se fomenta la inclusión digital y el uso de imágenes como idiomas convergentes dentro de las bibliotecas híbridas. Apuntamos a estudiar los recursos atractivos proporcionados por el lenguaje visual en los procesos de inclusión social y digital. Por lo tanto, realizamos una revisión de la literatura sobre la sintaxis de los lenguajes visuales. Como resultado, se construyó una guía para bibliotecarios. Concluimos que la comprensión y el uso de imágenes sirven como convergencia para quienes experimentan dichos lenguajes.

Research and Application of Mass Storage System (MSS) in University Hybrid Libraries

Hybrid library is the basic orientation of the present development library. Along with the fast growth of digitalized resources, it is extremely essential to set up a storage system which can meet the need of visiting mass storage and sharing backups. Based on the comparison of the main features of three storage systems (DAS, NAS and SAN) in terms of its notion of designing, connection protocol, style of management and its security, this paper focuses on the situation of the application of centralized management of data mainly constructed on the basis of SAN, tiered storage, as well as the storage system with good safety and strong extensibility in North China Institute of Science & Technology(NCIST).
