STEM is an effective teaching method that helps learners not only acquire scientific knowledge but also develop their practical skills, practical applications in life. This article introduces the design of laboratory lesson based on the STEM model in which the learning activities of first-year students in chemistry pedagogy aimed at manufacturing a simple electrochemical battery system for 3 hours. Firstly, the students used their skills to search and summarize the information about electrochemical batteries. Next is followed by practical activities such as using commercial batteries for making simple battery systems to power the light bulbs. A challenge was given for students to promote their creativity through a competition to create the brightest electrochemical battery. At the end of the session, students self-assessed according to the established questionnaire that help the teachers can check the effectiveness of teaching-learning.

Today, individuals with special needs who are reported to increase each day are receiving education with their peers in general classes and are subjected to inclusive practices according to the developments in the field of special education and legal regulations. However, it is also reported that there are problems with special education in many countries. The goal of this study is to reveal the views of pre-service primary school teachers on inclusive education and science laboratory lesson taught with differentiated approach and contribute to the solution of problems in inclusive education to some extent. Study sample comprise 103 pre-service primary school teachers studying at the 2nd grade of a state university in İstanbul in 2017-2018 academic period. Quantitative data of the study carried out with pretest-post test control group random quasi-experimental pattern were published by Mertoğlu, Topçu in 2020 and only qualitative data are used in this study. Condition of inclusive students in the experiment group was mentioned only as an individual difference and science laboratory lesson was taught with differentiated approach for one term. Students in the control group took the science laboratory class according to the normal program. Data obtained with lesson evaluation form, inclusion question form and field notes were evaluated and interpreted with descriptive data analysis method. Research results show that students in both control and experiment group need to take training on inclusive education. It was found that students in experiment group gained an awareness of instructional adaptations while the views of students in control group about instructional adaptations were far from being relevant to inclusive education. Views of students in experiment group show that science lessons taught with differentiated approach contributed to them “to remove their prejudices against science, to learn and teach science”, “remove their prejudices against students with special needs”, “remove their feelings, attitudes and worries about inclusion” and “realize inclusive practices in science education when they become teachers”.

The relevance of the study is due to the fact that the pandemic of the infectious disease COVID-19 is spreading in the world and in Ukraine. This requires the introduction of radical changes in the educational process of higher education institutions, in particular the conduct of laboratory work in the disciplines of the cycle of labor protection. The purpose of the article is to study the problem of development and implementation of remote laboratory classes in the study of the module 2 "Fundamentals of labor protection" based on the functioning of the electronic system JetIq VNTU. The object of the study is the educational distance training of bachelor students in the institutions of the cycle of disciplines in labor protection. The subject of research is the theory and methods of development and implementation of remote laboratory classes in the module 2 "Fundamentals of labor protection" on the topic «Research of touch and step voltage». The Regulations on distance and blended learning of Vinnytsia National Technical University are considered and the emphasis is placed on the need to introduce virtual experiments in conducting laboratory classes in the disciplines of the cycle of labor protection. The main elements of the scheme of realization of the educational platform − JetIq VNTU learning management system are generalized and examples of the corresponding interaction «Teacher – Student» are given. A virtual laboratory lesson with a detailed description of it, which is given in the guidelines for its remote implementation on the topic «Investigation of contact voltage and step" in the discipline discipline "Life safety and basics of labor protection" (module 2 "Fundamentals of labor protection") for students of educational degree Bachelor in the field of knowledge 07 − Management and administration in the electronic system JetIq VNTU. The structure of methodical instructions for the laboratory lesson «Investigation of contact and step voltage» in the discipline discipline "Life safety and basics of labor protection" (module 2 "Fundamentals of labor protection"). Conducting the experimental part, summarizing and forming a student report and communication in the system «Teacher – student». These guidelines allowed in the quarantine conditions to approach in the mode of a virtual experiment to investigate the physical processes that occur when a person is exposed to the voltage of touch and step; take readings from the voltmeter and ammeter; to construct the corresponding schedules, in particular concerning action on the person of force of current; draw conclusions, etc. Developed and implemented guidelines for conducting a virtual experiment «Study of the voltage of touch and step» allow in practice to consolidate the knowledge that was learned as a result of the lecture «Fundamentals of Electrical Safety», in video conferencing, based on the platform «Google Meet». This should raise the professional level of future graduates and form a holistic system of occupational safety competencies, which will ultimately save their lives and health in the process of professional activity.

AbstractMechanochemical reactions proceed if solid reactants combine together by grinding, milling or kneading with no or minimal solvent. It is possible to observe changes: fizzing, foaming, colour changes, water release. This process is manually simple and there are several mechanochemical reactions which can be demonstrated during school laboratory lessons. For high school pupils there exist five possibilities of inorganic synthesis: mechanochemical synthesis, crystallisation, precipitation, filtration and decantation. The preparation of aluminium hydroxide in the school laboratory is described in this paper. Five mechanochemical reaction schemes were tested by pupils in their laboratories. The pupils conducted the experiments and filled in worksheets to accompany the practical. On the basis of their results, a suitable procedure for school use is suggested.
