Generosity naturally reflects the idea of abundance, larger or plentiful. However, generosity as a language in architecture is vaguely understood, as it has neither a particular scheme nor definite form. This thesis focuses on the idea of generosity in architecture by exploring the language of generosity in providing a generous living for refugees resettling in New Zealand. It concerns the condition of living within a refugee resettlement centre when refugees spend their first six-week orientation program to prepare them for a new life in New Zealand. Through design-led research process, the project takes the concept of elementary geometry from children’s drawing of a house and evolves by extracting the language of generosity to form an architecture. Anything that could be simple to us could mean more to others. Hence, the act of provocation in the simplicity of form, scale, scheme, and colour could transform our perception on “generosity”, and thus it gives the potential for architecture to create an ideal condition of living for future refugees resettling in New Zealand.

On the grounds of few perceived Gronwall inequalities, we inspect some new relevant nonlinear dynamic inequalities on time scales related to one independent variable. To guarantee the evenness of information division and with the conversation of peculiar cases, it is indicated that these inequalities catch dynamic, delay, Volterra–Fredholm, discrete, fractional, etc. The inequalities suggested right here to other specific bounds on unknown parameters may be handled as powerful equipment for determining the features of various dynamic equations on time scales. It is trusted that this research plan will open new possibilities in in-depth examination of time scale scheme structure of varying nature.

The manufacturing process of GnP/polymer nanocomposites exhibits important challenges regarding the material quality and how to reduce or eliminate fabrication induced defects. In this work, the effect of air cavities (voids) on the thermal response of nanocomposites is studied by means of finite element analysis on a multi-scale scheme. The proposed model is validated with experimental data by performing generic and full-field comparisons.

We study a memristive circuit with included parasitic elements, such as capacitance and inductance. In the multiple-scale scheme, we analytically show how the parasitic elements affect the voltage and the current. Finally, we provide an analytical expression for the intersection point coordinates, through which we discuss the functional behavior of the pinched hysteresis loop versus the operating frequency and the parasitic elements.
