This paper tests the Uncovered Interest Parity (UIP) for Cambodian economy using the Generalized Methods of Moment (GMM). GMM method is used to address the weak result of simple OLS method, including the problems of endoneneity, serial correlation, heteroskedasticity. The result showed that, during the period of exchange rate stability, UIP is not valid even the country is a very highly dollarized economy and people can save in both local currency and USD in domestic banks. The UIP coefficient is negative and significant for three-month and six-month interest rates. The negative coefficient suggests that the monetary policy that tries to decrease interest rate (increase) may face the risk of currency depreciation (appreciation). If local currency depreciation is the driving force of dollarization, reducing local interest rate will encourage more dollarization in the economy.

Urinary antigen tests (UATs) are often used to diagnose Legionnaires’ disease as they are rapid and easy to perform on readily obtainable urine samples without the need for specialized skills compared to conventional methods. Recently developed automated readers for UATs may provide objective results interpretation, especially in cases of weak result bands. Using 53 defined patient urine samples, we evaluated the performance of the BinaxNOW Legionella Antigen Card (Abbott), ImmuView S. pneumoniae and Legionella (SSI Diagnostica), STANDARD F Legionella Ag FIA (SD Biosensor), and Sofia Legionella FIA (Quidel) simultaneously with their respective automated readers. Automatic and visual interpretation of result bands were also compared for the immunochromatography-based BinaxNOW and ImmuView UATs. Overall sensitivity and specificity of Legionella UATs were 53.9–61.5% and 90.0–94.9%, respectively. All four UATs successfully detected all samples from L. pneumophila serogroup 1-positive patients, but most failed to detect samples for Legionella spp., or other serogroups. Automatic results interpretation of results was found to be mostly concordant with visual results reading. In conclusion, the performance of the four UATs were similar to each other in the detection of Legionella urinary antigen with no major difference between automated or visual results reading.

Purpose: the creation of a questionnaire for business process maturity measurement. Design/Method/Approach. The authors developed a set of items and applied confirmatory factor analysis in order to demonstrate questionnaire validation and reliability. Findings. The model supports prior research to the extent that business process maturity can be explained by strategic alignment, governance and culture. Surprisingly, methodology showed weak result and IT & Technology as well as people did not seem to be part of the model. Theoretical implications. This research not only confirmed prior research but also showed that there is wiggle room regarding the underlying factors of business process maturity and how to apply them. Practical implications. This research provides a questionnaire for practitioners to assess business process maturity. Originality/Value. The authors created a questionnaire that can be used in practice and is based on factors backed up by academic research and findings. Research limitations/Future research. The authors suggests applying the questionnaire to a larger sample size as well as expanding the statistical methods used.   Paper type – empirical.

Data on cultivation of scallop Mizuhopecten yessoensis in the Ussuri Bay are generalized. The marine farms are located in the shallow waters at depths of 2-18 m, their plantations occupy different areas with different hydrodynamics. Complex structure of the plantations (collectors, cages and bottom facilities) is formed in the semi-closed Sukhodol Bay, but bottom plantations only for growing of scallop and sea cucumber are mounted in two other bays. The local broodstocks of scallop were formed by juveniles transported from the Posyet Bay, after that at least 20 million individuals of scallop spat were collected in three bays in 2000-2014, and their growing gave the total commercial output about 216 t (111 t in the Sukhodol Bay, 70 t in the Ilmovaya Bay, and 35 t in the Malye Kushi Bay). This is rather weak result that shows that the area has limited abilities for development of this type of aquaculture. The main reason was low density of spat on substrata: it never exceeded 200 ind./collector and did not increase during the farms development, so the farmers were forced to increase the number of collectors to obtain required number of spat; moreover, some years were unfavorable for collecting of juvenile scallops. There is concluded that environmental conditions in the eastern Ussuri Bay are not optimal for the scallop cultivation by extensive method.

This paper presents an analysis of the French adverbial alors (then, at that time, so). Among the linguistic markers that establish a temporal relation between the eventualities introduced by two clauses, we define as \textit{temporal connectives} those that introduce at the same time some sort of discourse relation. We argue that alors can be such a connective. Within the framework of Segmented Discourse Representation Theory, our investigation concerning the discourse information conveyed by sentence initial alors reveals at least three sorts of relations close to the Result relation of SDRT. Alors alone conveys a weak causal relation, which we formalize using Lewis’ counterfactual, and encode in the discourse relation Weak-Result. We distinguish it from Strong-Result, which is inferred when lexical or other contextual information suggests a causal, discursive link. We also show that alors can, when Weak-Result is blocked, suggest an inferential relation, which we express using the weak conditional already present in SDRT.

When a body of fluid with a vertical salinity gradient is heated from a vertical sidewall instabilities are sometimes observed. The linear stability of this basic state has been investigated by Kerr (1989). This linear theory predicts the onset of instability well when compared with experimental results; however, the form of the observed nonlinear instabilities does not coincide with the linear predictions (cf. Chen, Briggs & Wirtz 1971; Tsinober & Tanny 1986; Tanny & Tsinober 1988). In this paper we investigate some of the nonlinear aspects of the problem. A weakly nonlinear analysis reveals that the bifurcation into instability is subcritical, and that the initial trend along this branch of solutions is towards the co-rotating cells observed in experiments. The heating levels for which instabilities are absent are investigated by the use of energy stability analysis. This yields a weak result for arbitrary disturbances, showing that disturbances will decay for sufficiently low wall heating. This bound is greatly strengthened by imposing a vertical periodicity on the lengthscale proposed by Chen et al.
