Millions of papers have been published and the same amounts of discussions have been made on the topic of Sustainable Development. Despite that, the situation is getting worsen day by day, not even meager progress has been reported. The culture, which is developed in society wherein, dead are worshipped and living people are crushed under the legs of power politics. It has stolen humanity from humans the structured society has created an institutional crisis and emotional crisis. People are suffering from dark emotions irrespective of any group of age. Instead of debating about the topic, we should start nudging society for sustainable development at the micro-level. Working at the Macro level for sustainable development without talking about the micro-level is not only futility but also wasting of resources. The ubiquitous three monkeys of Mahatma Gandhi depicting moral gestures see no evil, speak no evil, and hear no evil are the ardent requirement of the 21st Century as it talks about emotions at the micro-level as it talks about how socially communicability is needed in society.  It is noteworthy that the small three monkey figurine was among the few belongings of Mahatma Gandhi that always remained with him. However, “A photograph of the few personal possessions which Mahatma Gandhi has left to the world and spoons appear in the picture along with his favorite book of songs and the figurine of the three monkeys whom he used to call his gurus. The Monkeys symbolize the injunctions to speak no evil, to see no evil, and to hear no evil.” In this paper, an attempt has been made to establish a trinity model of Gandhi, Buddha, and Dark Emotions which can help society to think positive to irradiate dark emotions which in turns helps in sustainable development

When I was a child, my favorite book was Wonderful Journey by Selma Lagerlof in Hungarian translation. The story is about a boy who is turned into a Tom Thumb for bad behavior. He joins a flock of wild geese and travels with them on the back of a goose on a series of adventures through towns and forests, even under the sea to an “Atlantis.” He speaks the language of the animals and learns good behavior. As a reward, after a year, he is transformed back into a regular boy and goes home. He looks up wonderingly at the flock of geese going on another adventure but can no longer understand the language of animals. He is sad. At this point, I always cried. (I did not know that the story, written in 1907, took place in Sweden and was a geography lesson of Sweden, specifically. It is available now in English as the Wonderful Adventures of Nils. Selma Lagerlof received the Nobel Prize.)

The purposes of the present paper are (a) to propose the Mini-Bibliobattle as an appropriate output activity linked with the extensive reading (ER) program by discussing its theoretical background and (b) to explore the effects of the Mini-Bibliobattle on the change of reading attitudes through one case study. The current paper firstly reviews the previous literature on the outcome of ER and points out that little study has been done concerning how the input of English gained through ER can efficiently be connected to the development of the output ability. In this paper, the Mini-Bibliobattle, in which each participant makes a three-minute presentation on his/her favorite book, answers the questions by the audience, and decides a champion book, was proposed as an appropriate output activities of ER. Then its rationale was discussed from the two perspectives, i.e., continuity with ER and relatedness to ER. Additionally, a case study was conducted with 46 third-year technical college students to investigate the effects on their reading attitudes. This case study found that (a) the participants came to read English more carefully than before (b) they came to expand the range of book selection and (c) most participants recognized that the Mini-Bibliobattle was a meaningful activity for their output ability development.
