A new guanine salt hydrate, K+·C5H4N5O−·H2O, was obtained and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction in the temperature range 100 K–300 K and compared with that of the previously documented sodium salt hydrate (2Na+·C5H3N5O2−·7H2O) [Gur & Shimon (2015). Acta Cryst. E71, 281–283; Gaydamaka et al. (2019). CrystEngComm, 21, 4484–4492]. Both sodium and potassium salt hydrates have channels. However, the structure of the channels, the cation coordination, the protonation (and, respectively, the charge) of the guanine anions, as well as the role of water molecules in the crystal structure are different for the two salt hydrates. In the crystal structures of the potassium salt, the guanine anions are linked via hydrogen bonds into quartets that form open cylindrical channels in a honeycomb framework. Water molecules `line the walls' of the channels, whereas the potassium cations fill the intra-channel space. This contrasts with the structure of the sodium salt hydrate in which guanine anions form channels with water molecules filling in the channel space together with sodium cations coordinating them. The 1D anionic assembly generated through numerous hydrogen bonds and cation interactions with guanine anions and water molecules is energetically the most distinctive part of the structure of the potassium salt hydrate. In the case of the guanine sodium salt, the structure contains purely inorganic polymeric fragments – sodium cations coordinated to a water molecule forming a 1D polymeric structure and guanine anions interconnecting these polymers via hydrogen bonds with water molecules. The structural differences account for the difference in the anisotropy of strain on temperature variation for the two salt hydrates: whereas in both structures the values of the bulk thermal expansion coefficients are similar in the two structures and the major expansion is observed along the channel axes, the degree of anisotropy for the K salt is more than four times higher than that for the Na salt.

This paper deals with the problem of detection and direction of arrival (DOA) estimation of slowly moving targets against clutter in multichannel mobile passive radar. A dual cancelled channel space-time adaptive processing (STAP) scheme is proposed, aiming at reducing the system computational complexity, as well as the amount of required training data, compared to a conventional full array solution. The proposed scheme is shown to yield comparable target detection capability and DOA estimation accuracy with respect to the corresponding full array solution, despite the lower computational cost required. Moreover, it offers increased robustness against adaptivity losses, operating effectively even in the presence of a limited set of training data, as often available in the highly non-homogeneous clutter scenarios experienced in bistatic passive radar. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme and its suitability for passive GMTI are demonstrated against both simulated and experimental data collected by a DVB-T-based multichannel mobile passive radar.

AbstractAimWe demonstrate a pipeline with accompanying code to allow users to clean and prepare optode location information, prepare and standardize individual anatomical images, create the light model, run the 3D image reconstruction, and analyze data in group space.ApproachWe synthesize a combination of new and existing software packages to create a complete pipeline, from raw data to analysis.ResultsThis pipeline has been tested using both templates and individual anatomy, and on data from different fNIRS data collection systems. We show high temporal correlations between channel-based and image-based fNIRS data. In addition, we demonstrate the reliability of this pipeline with a sample dataset that included 74 children as part of a longitudinal study taking place in Scotland. We demonstrate good correspondence between data in channel space and image reconstructed data.ConclusionsThe pipeline presented here makes a unique contribution by integrating multiple tools to assemble a complete pipeline for image reconstruction in fNIRS. We highlight further issues that may be of interest to future software developers in the field.SignificanceImage reconstruction of fNIRS data is a useful technique for transforming channel-based fNIRS into a volumetric representation and managing spatial variance based on optode location. We present a novel integrated pipeline for image reconstruction of fNIRS data using either MRI templates or individual anatomy.

The current situation, environmental and other main problems of territorial development of the central historical part of the city of Moscow are considered. In the context of national peculiarities of legal and technical regulation, conceptual proposals for the development of the subsurface space of the Drainage channel are analyzed. The purpose of the analysis was to assess compliance with world practice, the General Plan of the city, other documents and documentation of urban planning design, as well as the main legal norms and documents on standardization (Code of Rules “Buildings, structures and complexes underground. Rules of urban planning design”). The analysis was carried out taking into account the areas of improvement of legal and technical regulation. It is concluded that the considered variant of spatial development has a fundamentally new, innovative character and can give significant environmental and social effects. At the same time, the results of the analytical stage showed the need to supplement the General Plan of the city in the considered part. The presence of regulatory risks is also revealed, their causes are identified and some general suggestions for reducing such risks are given. The above analysis and recommendations can be useful for representatives of the authorized state authorities of the city of Moscow, for the customer (investor, developer) and the executor of the further implementation of the considered project, as well as for representatives of the expert community.

Microencapsulated resveratrol (RSV) is a pertinent ingredient in functional foods to be used in the prevention and management of cardiovascular diseases. Gamma-cyclodextrin (γ-CD) was evaluated for its RSV inclusion ability. Inclusion procedures comprised mixing equal concentration of an aqueous solution of γ-CD with an ethanol solution of RSV and freeze-drying to obtain a solid material. Solid-state characterization by vibrational spectroscopy, thermogravimetry, and powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) confirmed the formation of the γ-CD·RSV complex in a ratio of 1:1. PXRD suggested that cyclodextrin molecules in the complex are stacked in infinite channels holding the RSV inside, with a wide inter-channel space where 14 water molecules are retained. Fresh lemon juices supplemented with 0.625 mg/mL of RSV in its free (RSV-juice) or complexed (γ-CD·RSV-juice) form were stored along 28 days under dark and room temperature or at 4 °C. Initially, the RSV level in γ-CD·RSV-juice was about nine times higher than in RSV-juice (43.1% and 4.8%, respectively), suggesting that the RSV complexation promoted its solubility in the lemon juice, a fact that was still noticed after 28 days of storage. Moreover, regardless the fact that the antioxidant capacity was similar among the juices, the loss of antiradical ABTS•+ capacity in γ-CD·RSV-juice was reduced compared to that of the RSV-juice. Overall, this study allowed concluding that γ-CD can serve as a carrier of RSV, promoting its solubility and eventually protecting its antioxidant stability in lemon juices for at least 28 days.
