Land Art is a principle in contemporary art that developed in the sixties and seventies of the 20th century, as a reaction to commercialization in art. The art of Land Art abandoned museums and galleries and develops monumental projects in free space and landscapes, which in an artistic way are changing and adapting without having any negative impact on the environment. Knowing and evaluating contemporary art in practice is as important as observing and evaluating traditional art works, which is also based on the development of subtle perception of art. For this reason, this case study examines the possibility of implementing contemporary art in this case Land Arta in pedagogical work with children in Kindergarten. Land Art is, in its essence, quite suitable as an incentive for creative work for interaction with nature, the use of natural materials that are close to children, has a good effect on the psyche of the child and contains an educational ecological component. The results showed that the children who participated in this research were creatively responsive and created interesting artworks inspired by land art.

The paper seeks to present the results of research on how to spend free time of preschool children before and during the first phase of COVID-19 virus when, in order to prevent the spread of the virus, in March, April and May 2020, strict health protection measures for health. The aim of the research is to gain insight into the ways of spending free time of preschool children before and during the first phase of the COVID-19 virus, to examine the extent to which their everyday life has changed and how children have accepted these changes. The research was conducted by surveying 1121 parents of preschool children in the whole Croatia. The obtained results show that in relation to spending free time before the virus, during the first phase of COVID-19 virus, the way of spending free time of preschool children changed. Thus, during the first phase of the COVID-19 virus, preschool children most often, and for a longer period of time, spent their free time using the media, primarily watching television, in free play and playing board games with family, and spent less time playing outdoors and in sports activities and mobile games. In joint leisure activities, children and parents spent most of their free time in recreational and outdoor sports activities, outdoor games and playing various games at home during the emergency situation caused by COVID. Although just over half (56,9%) of parents believe that the new situation caused by the COVID-19 virus did not affect their child’s development, 43,1% parents believe that it had a negative effect on their child, especially on his socio-emotional level.

Prepubescent children need to be prepared for puberty in an appropriate manner including all related associations and contexts. Children should learn the required knowledge before its onset—when they are in primary school. Knowledge is gained in the process of learning and represents the level of awareness. The cognitive level of knowledge represents the amount and quality of relevant information. Adolescence is a broadly defined stage of life, in which the reproductive capacity culminates and physical growth is completed. In the period of adolescence, psychological and social changes take place along with biological changes. Puberty is a significant element of sexuality education in the global dimension. The objective of the present educational research study is to identify the level of knowledge concerning the definition and significance of puberty among primary school pupils in Croatia and in the context of other selected countries (Czech Republic, Sweden, China, Spain). The data were collected by means of a knowledge achievement test. The content of the nine test items focused on the following: concept of puberty; definition of puberty; puberty age range; knowledge about physical changes in boys and girls; knowledge about other changes that puberty induces; significance of puberty in human life. To identify any statistically significant differences in the pupils’ responses by countries, the non-parametric Kruskal-Wallis test was used. The results suggest that prepubescents do not have the right knowledge about puberty and do not consider relevant associations and contexts in a comprehensive way. The incomplete knowledge suggests that prepubescents do not think about the significance of puberty in a comprehensive perspective but rather in various combinations of the biological, psychological and social areas.

This paper deals with the use of interjections in early language development and children’s literature with special emphasis on the syntactic role and meaning of interjections in statements and/or verses. In communication with children, children’s poetry and picture books, as well as children’s speech, interjections replace nouns, verbs and adverbs, i.e., they have a different syntactic function which is proven by the examples. Special emphasis is also being placed on the interjections’ function as exclamations in children’s statements and poetry which goes beyond sentence structure. The paper presents different development stages in acquiring first language, i.e., development stages in children’s speech production, and the frequency of using interjections in different sentence functions while mastering speech. Furthermore, it analyzes and provides examples of the use of interjections in children’s poetry from folk oral poetry to contemporary picture books as well as picture books for speech therapy. It emphasizes the influence of a child’s motor development on speech development, as well as the influence of motherese, parentese, i.e., speech which parents or guardians use with their children (baby-talk), and applying games and picture books for speech therapy in reading routines with children. Examples provided in the paper prove the polyfunctionality of interjections in children’s speech and children’s literature.

This article shows the importance of extracurricular activities in the life of a student of the Polytechnic of Zagreb (TVZ). The emphasis of the article is on the kinesiological activities selected by students during their free time when unoccupied by classroom activities, as well as the utilization of free time for the purposes of achieving better success during the training process, in competitions and subsequently on the students’ psychophysical state. It is shown that kinesiological contents occupy the mere fifth place of interest of Zagreb students (24.5 %) as a form of leisure (Bouillet 2008). In order to increase students’ general health and raise the level of physical activity, it is essential to meet the biological needs for movement, and with it improve their anthropological status.
