The paper seeks to present the results of research on how to spend free time of preschool children before and during the first phase of COVID-19 virus when, in order to prevent the spread of the virus, in March, April and May 2020, strict health protection measures for health. The aim of the research is to gain insight into the ways of spending free time of preschool children before and during the first phase of the COVID-19 virus, to examine the extent to which their everyday life has changed and how children have accepted these changes. The research was conducted by surveying 1121 parents of preschool children in the whole Croatia. The obtained results show that in relation to spending free time before the virus, during the first phase of COVID-19 virus, the way of spending free time of preschool children changed. Thus, during the first phase of the COVID-19 virus, preschool children most often, and for a longer period of time, spent their free time using the media, primarily watching television, in free play and playing board games with family, and spent less time playing outdoors and in sports activities and mobile games. In joint leisure activities, children and parents spent most of their free time in recreational and outdoor sports activities, outdoor games and playing various games at home during the emergency situation caused by COVID. Although just over half (56,9%) of parents believe that the new situation caused by the COVID-19 virus did not affect their child’s development, 43,1% parents believe that it had a negative effect on their child, especially on his socio-emotional level.

The manner in which he intends to spend his free time may affect the quality of life, beneficial or not. We intend to identify the preferences of the population over 25 years in Iași city, for leisure practicing sport and physical activities in specialized institutions. The sample survey included 150 citizens of Iasi (75 male, 75 female), distributed by age ranges: 25-34; 35-44; 45-54; 55-64 years. They answered a questionnaire with 14 questions that focused customer profile (demographics: age, sex), the behavior of consumption (frequency of practicing sport and physical leisure activities, frequency of practicing sport and physical activities in sports clubs, preferences for various sport and physical activities). The results suggest that sport and physical activities play an important place in free time, preferences turning to programs and services offered by sports clubs and associations in the city. There are gender differences regarding: leisure sports (men devote more time to, but also include several sports activities in their free time than women; also, young people pay more attention to sports activities compared to subjects other intervals age); in sports (even if there are a number of common sports), the reasons underlying their practice (women prevail desire to lose weight and men wish to keep fit). The understanding that free time is becoming shorter andshorter and precious determines behavior directed towards ensuring the individual benefits: better health condition, relaxation and satisfaction.

The purpose of this pilot study was to descriptively evaluate the effects of three different programs on the development of gross motor skills of preschool children with learning disabilities (n = 29). No attempt was made to equate the groups or control for differences between the programs or instructional staff. Two of the programs were used by the respective schools to develop the gross motor skills of their audience. The programs were called occupational therapy (OT) (45–60 min/day, 5 days/week) and adapted physical education (APE) (30 min/day, 4 days/week). A third group was evaluated to determine whether maturational effects had any involvement in gross motor development. This group was called the noninstructional program (NIP) (30 min/day, 2 days/week) and was solely involved in free play. The programs were all in session for the entire school year (33–35 weeks). The results of the study revealed that the children in the APE program made more significant gains across objectives, and particularly on the qualitative measures, than did the children in the OT or NIP groups.

Background: Pulses are one of the most important food crops grown globally owed to their higher protein content. It also accounts for larger financial gains of the agricultural sector by amounting for a large part of the exports. The present study was carried out to determine the factors affecting production of pulse crops in Rajasthan. Methods: This paper based on secondary data collected over the years i.e. from 2000-01 to 2017-18. The Cobb-douglas production function was used to the observation for the estimation of elasticity of selected variables contributing to the production of pulses in Rajasthan state, Cobb douglas type production function was employed to assess the effects of seed, fertilizer, manure, human labour, irrigation, bullock labour and plant protection measures on pulses production. Result: The results from the study have shown that fertilizer and plant protection measures were positively significant while the variable corresponding to irrigation water was negatively significantly affecting the gram production. The variables such as seed and irrigation water were found positive and significant, while plant protection measures had significant negative effect on black gram production. Only two variables namely, fertilizer and irrigation water were found positively significant out of estimating production function of green gram.

Abstract In this paper we wanted to present some aspects and characteristics observed in the specialized works and from the experience gained in performing physical activities during the COVID-19 pandemic. This period was a complicated one both in terms of physical distancing and emotionally. We no longer had the right to leave our houses, except to get what was strictly necessary, not to meet with family members or friends, cultural and sports activities were suspended, and all this caused an increasingly visible state of sedentary lifestyle. All the restrictions of this period had a negative effect mainly on the brain and the dynamics of the human body, and they are detailed in the following pages.

Objective: We performed the eco-hygienic assessment of electromagnetic fields as an environmental factor under modern conditions. Materials and methods: We determined a range of issues on the significance of electromagnetic fields of various frequencies and intensities in human vital activity on the basis of the analysis of scientific literature. Results and discussion: Taking into account the further development of the national economy of the country, safety and protection of the population from the effects of electromagnetic fields both in industry and everyday life remain one of the urgent problems, taking into consideration that their biological effect on the human organism is very complex and has not been completely studied. In this regard, special attention should be paid to the use of hand-held telephones and computers which are used by the people of different age, gender and physiological state of the organism. Therefore, the existing protection measures against the negative effect of EMF require further improvement and refinement. Conclusions: Protection of the population from the adverse effects of electromagnetic radiation of various frequencies and intensities has been and remains an urgent eco-hygienic problem of mankind, and medical workers, engineers, biologists, ecologists and other specialists should participate in its solution.

Aim: In this study, it was aimed to examine the communication levels of female volleyball players according to their leisure time activities. In addition, the communication levels of the participants according to their age, education, years of doing sports and the number of siblings were also examined. Method: Our sample group consists of 147 female volleyball players who played volleyball in volleyball clubs in Kütahya and Tekirdağ provinces in 2019. Descriptive research method was used in the research. Data were collected from volunteer participants by using the “Communication Skills Assessment Scale” (CIDI) developed by Korkut (1996). The scale has a single sub-dimension and consists of 25 items and the Cronbach Alpha value was found to be .86. By directing distribution normality to parametric tests, multiple frequency analysis, one-way variance and correlation analyzes were applied. Results: While there is no significant difference between age, education, number of siblings and communication skills of female volleyball players, there is a significant difference according to the year of doing sports and leisure time activities. The communication level of female volleyball players who have been playing sports for 4-9 years is higher than those who have been doing sports for 10 years or more. In addition, those who read books in their free time got the highest score, and those who went to the movies got the lowest score. In the correlation analysis, there is a weak positive relationship between the communication levels of volleyball players with reading books, and a weak negative relationship with the scores of going to the movies. Conclusion: According to the data results of 147 female volleyball players participating in the study, the communication skill scores of female volleyball players reading books in leisure activities were higher than the others.
