This paper reviews the phase structures and oxidation kinetics of complex Ti-Al alloys at oxidation temperatures in the range of 600–1000 °C. The mass gain and parabolic rate constants of the alloys under isothermal exposure at 100 h (or equivalent to cyclic exposure for 300 cycles) is compared. Of the alloying elements investigated, Si appeared to be the most effective in improving the oxidation resistance of Ti-Al alloys at high temperatures. The effect of alloying elements on the mechanical properties of Ti-Al alloys is also discussed. Significant improvement of the mechanical properties of Ti-Al alloys by element additions has been observed through the formation of new phases, grain refinement, and solid solution strengthening.

Different laid modes of aluminum alloy section bars and their mortise and tenon joints were bending tested, and their mechanical properties were compared, in order to research on the influence that forming a mortise and tenon joint brought to the original bars. Opening a hole laterally and inserting another shorter bar in the hole changed the bending properties and energy absorption capacity of the original bar. In horizontal laid mode, the mortise and tenon joint was weaker than the original bar when bearing bending load, but it was stronger in vertical laid mode. Weld beads of the mortise and tenon joints were strong enough to maintain the structure integrality before the main section bars were destroyed by load.

In this short review paper, the physical and mechanical properties of acacia wood, poly lactic acid (PLA) and polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) were analyzed. Existing factors that affect the mechanical properties of natural fiber composites were investigated and identified. By knowing these factors, a possibility and potentiality in implementing the natural acacia wood reinforced material with hybrid polymer were discussed. It was found that the acacia wood had the potential to re-condition soil and have the potential to become reinforced materials in hybrid polymer composites. In addition, using fully biodegradable polymer such as PLA and PHA made it sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Currently, the composite materials make important great strides, considering their high mechanical properties. The studies relating to the conceptual, technical aspect and modeling of their mechanical behavior are more than desirable. The mechanical properties of the composite material depend on several factors as the nature of fibers, the fiber/matrix ratio, compatibility, homogeneity... In this study, we present the results of an experimental analysis of the behavior of the composite material, under a static and a dynamic loading. The composite material is composed respectively of the glass and metal fiber reinforcement. A various dimensions of the mesh are considering. The resin used is polyester Resow 55 E. The dynamic test ( Knoop test) is carried out on various specimens made up of an polyester resin RESOW 55 E reinforced with varied powder nature. It makes it possible to measure the hardness of composite materials. The analysis of the results shows clearly that the mechanical properties are strongly influenced by the dimensions of the elementary mesh of the fiber grid reinforcement. Based on experimental results, a Weibull modulus has been established for each specimen.
