Abstract INCO Alloy MS 250 is a cobalt-free managing steel with nominal yield strength of 250,000 psi, fully heat-treated. Strengthening results from intermetallic-compound precipitation in a low-carbon martensitic matrix. It has excellent weldability. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SA-426. Producer or source: Inco Alloys International Inc..

Some intermetallic compounds which contain uranium or cerium present heavy fermion characteristics. Take, for example, in the UM 2 Al 3 ( M = Pd , Ni ) family, superconductivity and magnetism coexist and present heavy fermion behavior. This work presents the crystallographic characteristics and physical properties of a new compound of this family; the intermetallic compound UCo 2 Al 3. Our initial crystallographic studies performed in a small single crystal show that the structure is hexagonal and similar to the UNi 2 Al 3 and UPd 2 Al 3 parent compounds. The space group is P6/mmm with a=5.125 Å and c=4.167 Å crystalline parameters. Measurements of resistivity and magnetization performed on the single crystal reveal that the compound is not superconducting when measured at about 1.8 K. The compound is highly anisotropic and features related to Kondo-like behavior are observed. A weak ferromagnetic transition is observed at a temperature of about 20 K.

Test of 5052 Al alloy contact reactive brazing has been conducted in the case of special brazing parameters, using Cu foil-Mg power-Cu foil as reaction layer material, the microstructure were analyzed and discussed primarily. The results show that the brazing seam structure consisted of α-Al solid solution and CuAl2 intermetallic compound; the organizations of brazed seam include Al (Mg, Cu) solid solution CuAl2 binary intermetallic compound, complicated ternary intermetallic compound and Al2MgO4.
