The paper presents a high-level system model of a W-band frequency-modulated continuous-wave radar which allows to determine and optimize main parameters of radar functional blocks at the system calculation and simulation stage. The structure of two-level model in Matlab and Simulink environment is considered and its features are described. Results of the radar simulation and justification of main functional blocks parameters are presented on the example of a W-band single-chip automotive radar.

Coherence preservation of a multilevel system subject to Markovian decoherence is studied. A Lambda-type three-level atom is selected as the system model. Coherence preservation between a ground state and the excited state of such a system is defined as the control object. A control field is designed by means of constraining the constant coherence condition. For the singularities of the control field, we qualitatively analyze the breakdown time, i.e. the time of control diverging. We obtain the region in which the state stays to maintain coherence forever in the case that the three-level system is reduced to a two-level one. For other cases, we investigate how different parameters affect the breakdown time qualitatively. Numerical experiments are implemented on a three-level quantum system and the experimental results are analyzed.

Abstract In order to satisfy the several training requests regarding the method of Episodes of Situated Learning by teachers of all levels, in the academic year 2018/2019, CREMIT (Catholic University) has developed an e-learning course. This paper aims to describe the training structure, designed according to the ADDIE instructional system model, focusing on the elements such as micro-learning, e-tivities and e-tutoring. The course was delivered in two editions (November–December 2018 and May–June 2019). The evaluation process highlights some relevant aspects: the high level of participants’ satisfaction, the moderate numbers of dropouts and the completely positive results of the assessment activities. The analysis of the gathered data allowed us to re-design the e-learning course.

This paper mainly focuses on designing an open CNC system. At first, the advantages and disadvantages of the three popular open numerical control technologies were discussed, and on the basis of demands analysis, this paper chose motion controller plus PC as the whole system model. Then, according to the system model, this article designed the hardware system for the control system, including choosing multi-axis motion control card, servo motors and their drivers. Thirdly, based on the features of this open numerical control system, the paper designed and put the software into three levels, namely low level of control software, mid-level of communication software, and high-level of management software respectively. Finally, in order to test the control performance of this open numerical control system, some experiments were carried out on a two-dimension motion platform, the results are satisfactory and error analysis on these experiments is also given out.
