A mathematical model of amperometric biosensors has been developed. The model bases on non-stationary diffusion equations containing a non-linear term related to Michaelis-Menten kinetic of the enzymatic reaction. The model describes the biosensor response to mixtures of multiple compounds in two regimes of analysis: batch and flow injection. Using computer simulation, large amount of biosensor response data were synthesised for calibration of a biosensor array to be used for characterization of wastewater. The computer simulation was carried out using the finite difference technique.

In the manufacturing industry, managers and engineers are trying to sustain their competitiveness by achieving high output and productivity. There are some common problems such as waiting times, failures, reworks in production line that impose extra cost to the companies. Therefore, companies are striving to find methods in order to determine and deal with problems using different methods such as mathematical, statistical and computer simulation. The goal of this paper is to increase the total output production and to improve productivity using computer simulation and Taguchi method. This paper introduces a color manufacturing line as a case study which is simulated using arena 13.9 software. Following that the Taguchi method is applied to assess the effect of controllable and uncontrollable factors on the total output production. According to the result of JMP 10 software to conduct Taguchi experiment, the maximum desirability of productivity will be achieved when the value of factors such service rate of delpak machine=UNIF (30, 40), number of labor=14, inspection time=120 and number of Permil=5. Taguchi Method plays an efficient and suitable role in the process improvement, proposing adjustments that will provide an improvement in the productivity.

AbstractThin (<200Å), epitaxial CoSi2 films have been grown on (111) Siwafers in a UHV system using a variety of growth techniques including solid phase epitaxy (SPE), reactive deposition epitaxy (RDE), and molecular beam epitaxy (MBE). SEN and TEN studies reveal significant variations in the epitaxial silicide surface morphology as a function of the sillciqd formation method. Pinhole densities are generally greater than 107 cm-2, although some reduction can be achieved by utilizing proper growth techniques. Si epilayers were deposited over the CoSi2 films inthe temperature range from 550ºC to 800ºC, and the reesuulttinng structures have been characterized using SEM, cross—sectional TEN, and ion channeling measurements. These measurements show that the Si epitaxial quality increases with growth temperature, although the average Si surface roughness and the CoSi2 pinhole density also increase as the growth temperature is raised.
