Aim/Purpose: This research aims to describe and demonstrate the results of an intervention through educational robotics to improve the computational thinking of student teachers. Background: Educational robotics has been increasing in school classrooms for the development of computational thinking and digital competence. However, there is a lack of research on how to prepare future teachers of Kindergarten and Elementary School in the didactic use of computational thinking, as part of their necessary digital teaching competence. Methodology: Following the Design-Based Research methodology, we designed an intervention with educational robots that includes unplugged, playing, making and remixing activities. Participating in this study were 114 Spanish university students of education. Contribution: This research helps to improve the initial training of student teachers, especially in the field of educational robotics. Findings: The student teachers consider themselves digital competent, especially in the dimensions related to social and multimedia aspects, and to a lesser extent in the technological dimension. The results obtained also confirm the effectiveness of the intervention through educational robotics in the development of computational thinking of these students, especially among male students. Recommendations for Practitioners: Teacher trainers could introduce robotics following these steps: (1) initiation and unplugged activities, (2) gamified activities of initiation to the programming and test of the robots, (3) initiation activities to Scratch, and (4) design and resolution of a challenge. Recommendation for Researchers: Researchers could examine how interventions with educational robots helps to improve the computational thinking of student teachers, and thoroughly analyze gender-differences. Impact on Society: Computational thinking and robotics are one of the emerging educational trends. Despite the rise of this issue, there are still few investigations that systematize and collect evidence in this regard. This study allows to visualize an educational intervention that favors the development of the computational thinking of student teachers. Future Research: Researchers could evaluate not only the computational thinking of student teachers, but also their didactics, their ability to teach or create didactic activities to develop computational thinking in their future students.

Nøkkelord: profesjonsfaglig digital kompetanse, PfDK, grunnskolelærerutdanning, profesjonsfaglige tverrfaglige temaer, PfDK-rammeverk Digitalization in teacher education: How professional digital competence is addressed in different subjects AbstractResearch shows that the development of teacher students' professional digital competence (PDC) has been given little priority in Norwegian teacher education (for primary and lower secondary level). However, we need updated studies about how PDC is addressed in different subjects in TE. In this article, we use PDC in line with how it is presented in Professional Digital Competence: A Framework for Teachers, launched by the Directorate for Education and Training in 2017. We investigate differences between how teacher educators from various subject groups facilitate teacher students’ development of PDC, and what characterizes the implementation of PDC in these groups. The study has a descriptive cross-sectional design based on self-reported data from five Norwegian teacher education institutions. Results reveal a clear association between subject group affiliation and how teacher educators work with PDC. In addition, we find that how teacher educators evaluate their own technology use, also affects how they implement PDC. Teacher educators in Pedagogy and in the mixed subject group named Other address PDC to the greatest extent. Teacher educators in Social Sciences score above average. Teacher educators in Language and in Practical-Aesthetic subjects score approximately on average, while teacher educators working with KRLE (Christianity, Religion, Philosophies of life and Ethics) and with the STEM subjects score below. Some PDC topics that have received attention in the teacher profession, are paid little attention to across all subject groups. Our results provide new insights relevant to national stakeholders and teacher educations in their effort to ensure that all teacher students develop PDC and become well prepared for their future work-life in a digital age. Keywords: professional digital competence, PDC, teacher education, professional interdisciplinary topics, PDC framework

Abstract. Positive affectivity (PA) and negative affectivity (NA) are basic traits that affect work-related perceptions and behaviors and should be considered in any assessment of these variables. A quite common method to assess healthy or unhealthy types of work-related perceptions and behaviors is the questionnaire on Work-Related Coping Behavior and Experience Patterns (WCEP). However, the association of PA and NA with WCEP remained unclear. In a sample of teachers, physiotherapists, and teacher students ( N = 745; Mage = 35.07, SD = 12.49; 78% females), we aimed to identify the relevance of these basic traits. After controlling for age, gender, and type of occupation, we found main effects of PA and NA, with the specific combination of PA and NA being decisive for predicting the assignment to a WCEP type. The results highlight the need to include PA and NA in future assessments with the WCEP questionnaire.

From the beginning of the 21st century, digital competencies are perceived as a "requirement and right," as a "life/basic skill". The purpose of this article is to justify the creation of a blitz-survey, designed and conducted to determine the level of digital competence of students. The completed research will try to answer the question of how training in Faculty of Engineering and Technology develops the digital competence of students - future engineers, which factors influence the development and attitudes to improve this type of competence. The spectrum of components in the digital competencies is defined when developing the conceptual model of the study. The research model also reflects European documents in this area, the needs, and requirements of the labour market related to the training of engineers and the new approaches and paradigms in higher education. The questions were provisionally divided into seven sections, which also have connecting links. At this stage, the study was carried out with 280 students. The end goal of the scientific research is to suggest strategies for adapting the training of the students to the European requirements and the needs of the labour market in order to improve their employment status, their adaptiveness, and their professional development.

Proving in mathematics is an important activity, but this activity is classified as difficult for prospective mathematics teacher students. This problem is influenced by self-confidence. The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of achievement of students' mathematical proving ability and self-confidence  through the Moore method. This study uses a phased mixed method, namely quantitative and qualitative stages. In the quantitative stage, it was produced: "Based on the overall and PAM categories, the ability to prove the class using the Moore method is better than the class that uses the direct learning model". Moore's method can reveal the process of developing student learning outcomes in proof, so that lecturers can provide feedback to develop it. In the qualitative stage, the characteristics of the ability of several students are produced. these characteristics are reviewed based on student responses to the problem of proof. In the Moore method of learning, students are not allowed to open teaching materials, so the lecturer must follow the flow of student thinking and direct the thinking process. As an implication of the results of this study, the Moore method is well used with the notes that students must study before learning in class.
