Although the impact that Virtual Worlds and Serious Games can have on learning efficacy and efficiency has been recognized, there is still many open questions related to this issue. Specifically there aren’t guidelines or standards to help practitioners introduce this kind of technologies in a learning environment. In this chapter, the authors describe two experiments involving virtual worlds and serious games in a learning environment. These experiments allowed the authors to understand the real potential of this kind of technology, but also some of the difficulties one can come across. The authors hope that the experiments described in this chapter can serve as a basis for similar experiments done by other practitioners. Finally, some of the pitfalls that should be avoided are described as a set of lessons learnt at the end of the chapter.

The energy density formalism derived from both the conventional Skyrme force with parameter set SIII and the extended Skyrme force with parameters SKE1, SKE2, SKE3 and SKE4 has been used to study the orientation dependence of the real part of the ion–ion potential for the 238 U + 238 U system. Also, we considered the interaction potential between 238 U and three spherical nuclei. We compared our results for the real potential with the experimental results.

Brisbane in the 1920s certainly had its tense moments, but what struck me most forcibly in browsing the local newspapers from the period was how successfully political and social conflicts were absorbed into the peaceful, civil and law-abiding fabric of Brisbane life. World-altering events like the Russian Revolution, the Armistice and the Treaty of Versailles, the Irish Troubles and the rise of Mussolini were reported and discussed in the press and elsewhere, but matters seldom went further than that despite the real potential — given the presence of significant Russian, German, Irish and Italian minorities in the city's population — for ‘imported’ tensions. Even the momentous political developments that occurred in Brisbane in the early 1920s, when the state government's efforts to secure foreign loans were sabotaged by an opposition-funded delegation to London, and the Premier, EG (‘Red Ted’) Theodore, forced the parliamentary upper house to terminate its own existence, failed to polarise or fracture the community to any significant degree.

This paper explores the implications of change dilemma. The importance of the this topic lies in everyday’s need for organizations to change to survive or thrive yet there is no monolithic or simple thory that explains or prescribes organizational change. There are objective and subjective problems of the optimal condition . This paper discusses the political and sociological problems pertaining to the assumption of an objective optimal condition. We frame the real potential for this condition and its positive and negative strategic and social impacts from an Organization Theory (OT) perspective. Further, an aricle discusses positive and negative consequences of the bias towards change.

Background: Piperine, a bioactive alkaloid was a well-known component which was used traditionally to treat a variety of disorders. Objective: The present review is to discuss the modified piperine or piperic acid analogs or its derivatives to explore the potential of piperine. Piperine or piperic acid had potentials as antibacterial, antitumor, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, immunomodulatory and many more for drug development. So modification in natural molecule piperine generates numerous derivatives or analogues which may be found beneficial in drug development. Methods: A literature survey has been carried out to determine the real potential of piperine and its modified analogs. Results: It has been scrutinized that piperine and its derivatives possess valuable components with good therapeutic potential. Conclusion: Thus, this review aims to provide knowledge as well as to explore the excellent potential of piperine, piperic acid, piperine derived compounds/ analogs which may further, after performing toxicity studies, and other parameters, be helpful in the design and development of novel drug candidates against numerous disease conditions and thus it paves way for further work in exploring the potential to treat the patients with obesity and skin related disorders.
