Abstract Problems of the Mackey-continuity of characteristic functionals and the localization of linear kernels of Radon probability measures in locally convex spaces are investigated. First the class of spaces is described, for which the continuity takes place. Then it is shown that in a non-complete sigmacompact inner product space, as well as in a non-complete sigma-compact metizable nuclear space, there may exist a Radon probability measure having a non-continuous characteristic functional in the Mackey topology and a linear kernel not contained in the initial space. Similar problems for moment forms and higher order kernels are also touched upon. Finally, a new proof of the result due to Chr. Borell is given, which asserts that any Gaussian Radon measure on an arbitrary Hausdorff locally convex space has the Mackey-continuous characteristic functional.

По данным ВОЗ, за последнее столетие продолжительность жизни человека значительно увеличилась во всем мире, но этот процесс неизбежно сопровождается старением. Поэтому лица, достигшие пожилого и старческого возраста, нередко становятся немощными, особенно в физическом плане. В итоге, таким людям всё труднее даются движения, связанные с самообслуживанием и передвижением, при пользовании типовой одеждой и обувью. В процессе обследования 55 пациентов 60-87 лет, проведённого впервые с позиций медико-социальной реабилитации, получены данные о характере ограничений физических возможностей этого контингента людей, существенно осложняющих использование ими типовой одежды и обуви. Основной вывод работы заключается в актуальности разработки медико-технических требований, предъявляемых к проектированию и производству одежды и обуви специально для данной категории людей с учетом их измененных антропометрических параметров и характерных для них функциональных ограничений. According to the World Health Organization, human life expectancy has increased signifi cantly around the world over the past century, but this process is inevitably accompanied by aging. Therefore, persons who have reached the elderly and senile age often become infirm, especially physically. As a result, such people find it increasingly difficult to make movements related to self-service and movement when using standard clothing and shoes. In a study of 55 patients (from 60 to 87 years), conducted for the first time from the point of view of medical and social rehabilitation, data were obtained that reveal the nature of physical limitations of this group of people, which significantly complicate them use of standard clothing and shoes. The main conclusion of the work is the relevance of the development of medical and technical requirements for the design and production of clothing and footwear specifically for the elderly and senile taking into account their changed anthropometric parameters and their characteristic functional limitations.

Syzygium cumini is widely used in traditional medicine to treat diabetes in India. The present study was carried out to evaluate the phytochemical bioactive compounds from Syzygium cumini seed extract and its invitro anti-diabetic activity. The phytochemical screening showed appreciable amount of flavonoid and steroid in the seed extract. The infrared spectral data obtained revealed the presence of characteristic functional groups of alcohol, hydroxyl, aldehydes, alkanes, alkenes, nitro compound and aliphatic amines etc. The extract exhibits the dose-dependent increase in the inhibitory effect on alphaamylase enzyme upto 95.4%. The result suggested that significant amount of flavonoid in Syzygium cumini seed is responsible for antidiabetic properties and it is further confirmed by higher intensity of alpha amylase inhibitory effect.

The following article is intended to discuss the issues concerning the introduction of passive measures aimed at improving solar protection in multi-family buildings. A system of classifying these methods into two groups of solutions (architectural and material-building) was applied. The first group includes issues concerning facade design, the spatial features of which (such as loggias, balconies and other overhangs) can be treated as one of the solar protection methods. The authors’ own studies are presented and expressed in a sequence of formulas. The formulas enable assessment of the effectiveness of the above elements, depending on external conditions. As far as the second group is concerned, material-construction solutions for building facades and roofs are discussed. The solutions mentioned include solar-control glazing, spatial shading elements (such as venetian blinds, roller blinds), roof and façade vegetation, and the thermal mass of the building. The essence of the functioning of the analysed solutions in relation to the characteristic functional specificity of multi-family buildings is discussed. Problematic areas of application of the above methods are indicated. As shown in the study, problematic areas may include a group of utilitarian-operating, economic and aesthetic issues, in the case of which the use of passive solutions encounters limitations. In conclusion, the possibilities for alleviating these limitations are highlighted. The authors’ own solutions presented in the following paper can contribute to energy savings and may thus prove beneficial for environmental reasons, thereby serving the aims of sustainable development.

Elucidating the regulation mechanism of integrin αIIbβ3 is key to understand platelet biology and thrombotic diseases. Previous in vitro studies have implicated a role of migfilin in the support of platelet αIIbβ3 activation, however, contribution of migfilin to thrombosis and hemostasis in vivo and a detailed mechanism of migfilin in platelets are not known. In this study, with migfilin deletion (migfilin-/-) mice, we report that migfilin is a pivotal positive regulator of hemostasis and thrombosis. Migfilin-/- mice showed a nearly doubled tail-bleeding time and a prolonged occlusion time in Fecl3-induced mesenteric arteriolar thrombosis. Migfilin deficiency impedes platelet thrombi formation on collagen surface and impairs platelet aggregation and dense-granule secretion. Supported by characteristic functional readings and phosphorylation status of distinctive signaling molecules in the bidirectional signaling processes of αIIbβ3, the functional defects of migfilin-/- platelets appear to be mechanistically associated with a compromised outside-in signaling, rather than inside-out signaling. A synthesized cell-permeable migfilin peptide harboring filamin A binding sequence rescued the defective function and phosphorylation of signaling molecules of migfilin-/- platelets. Finally, migfilin does not influence the binding of filamin A and β3 subunit of αIIbβ3 in resting platelets, but hampers the re-association of filamin A and β3 during the conduct of outside-in signaling, suggesting that migfilin functions through regulating the interaction dynamics of αIIbβ3 and filamin A in platelets. Our study enhances the current understanding of platelet integrin αIIbβ3-mediated outside-in signaling and proves that migfilin is an important regulator for platelet activation, hemostasis and thrombosis.

We study shock formation in a stationary, axisymmetric, adiabatic flow of a perfect fluid in the equatorial plane of a Kerr geometry. For such a flow, there exist two intrinsic constants of motion along a fluid world line, namely the specific total energy, E = −hut, and the specific angular momentum, l = −uφ/ut, where the uμ’s are the four velocity components, h is the specific enthalpy, i.e., h = (P + ε)/ρ, with P, ε, and ρ being the pressure, the mass-energy density, and the rest-mass density, respectively.As shown in Fig. 1 (Fig. la is for a Schwarzschild black hole, i.e. the hole’s specific angular momentum a = 0; Fig. lb is for a rapid Kerr hole, i.e. a = 0.99M, where M is the black-hole mass, and prograde flows: and Fig. 1c is for a = 0.99M and retrograde flows), in the parameter space spanned by E and l there is a strictly defined region bounded by four lines: three characteristic functional curves lk(E), lmax(E), and lmin(E), and the vertical line E = 1. Only such a flow with parameters located within this region can have two physically realizable sonic points, the inner one rin, and the outer one rout. In between there is still one more, but unrealizable, sonic point, rmid. The region is divided by another characteristic functional curve lc(E) into two parts: in region I (= Ia + Ib) only τout is realized in a shock-free global solution (i.e., that joining the black-hole horizon to large distances), while in region II (= IIa + IIb) only rin is realized.
