AbstractThe objective of the present work was to adapt the Prussian Blue reaction for the determination of ascorbic acid. The procedure was successfully applied for the determination of ascorbic acid in red and white grapes (Vitis vinifera L.) just previous ingathering. In the present work was used the red and white grapes from Murfatlar vineyard: Mamaia, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Muscat Ottonel and Riesling Italian. The results were situated in the range of 0.67 - 1.79 mg vitamin C/100g product for red grapes and respectively 0.50 - 1.49 mg vitamin C/100g for white grapes.

Abstract The manual procedure of Babson et al. (1) for the determination of serum alkaline phosphatase has been automated. The assay is based on the colorimetric determination of phenolphthalein formed on hydrolysis of phenolphthalein monophosphate. The procedure utilizes 0.16 ml. of serum without dialysis. Blanks are required only for turbid sera. Results are compared with those obtained by the manual procedure, and data relating to sample interaction, precision, blank values, and normal values are presented.

5-(p-Dimethylaminobenzylidene)-rhodanine is used to determine 0.5 to 6 p.p.m. of platinum colorimetrically, after reduction of platinum IV with ascorbic acid. Platinum can be determined in the presence of a 10-fold excess of palladium; low concentrations of the other platinum metals, except rhodium, do not seriously interfere.
