This work involves an analysis of high-chromium high-temperature deformable wieldable nickel alloys for use in GTE repair assemblies. It is shown that the alloys EP868 (VZh98) and Haynes 230 can be used in welded assemblies with an operating temperature of 800-1100 °C. The alloys Nimonic 81, Nimonic 91, IN 935, IN 939, and Nicrotan 2100 GT also have a high potential for use in welded assemblies. They are characterized by a combination of good weldability, high-temperature strength, and resistance to scaling. There have been conducted studies on high-temperature salt corrosion of model nickel alloys. They allowed establishing the patterns of the impact of base metal alloying with chromium, aluminum, titanium, cobalt, tungsten, molybdenum, niobium, tantalum and rare earth metals on the critical temperature of the start of salt corrosion Tcor and the alloy mass loss. It has been established that alloys with a moderate concentration (13-16%) of chromium can possess satisfactory hightemperature corrosion resistance (HTC resistance) under the operating conditions of ship GTE. The HTC resistance of CrAl-Ti alloys improves upon reaching the ratio Ti/Al ˃ 1. Meanwhile, the ratio Ti/Al ˂ 1 promotes the formation of corrosion products with low protective properties. The positive effect of tantalum on the HTC resistance of alloys is manifested at higher test temperatures than that of titanium, and the total content of molybdenum and tungsten in alloys is limited by the condition 8Mo2 – 2W2 = 89. The presence of refractory elements stabilizes the strengthening phase and prevents formation of the ɳ-phase. However, their excess promotes formation of the embrittling topologically close packed (TCP) phases and boundary carbides of an unfavorable morphology. Based on the studies of the HTC resistance, there has been identified a class of model high-temperature corrosionresistant nickel alloys with a moderate or high chromium content (30%), Ti/Al ˃ 1, and a balanced content of refractory and rare-earth elements.

The effect of phase composition and morphology on high-temperature strength in the compression of Fe-Al-Si-based iron aluminides manufactured by casting was investigated. The structure and high-temperature strength in the compression of three alloys—Fe28Al5Si, Fe28Al5Si2Mo, and Fe28Al5Si2Ti—were studied. Long-term (at 800 °C for 100 h) annealing was performed for the achievement of structural stability. The phase composition and grain size of alloys were primarily described by means of scanning electron microscopy equipped with energy dispersive analysis and Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD). The phase composition was verified by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. The effect of Mo and Ti addition as well as the effect of long-term annealing on high-temperature yield stress in compression were investigated. Both additives—Mo and Ti—affected the yield stress values positively. Long-term annealing of Fe28Al5Si-X iron aluminide alloyed with Mo and Ti deteriorates yield stress values slightly due to grain coarsening.

Linear damage method is widely used to calculate low-cycle fatigue damage of turbine rotor in the long-term operation without fully considering the interaction between creep and low cycle fatigue. However, with the increase of steam turbine pressure and temperature, the influence of high-temperature creep on the strain distribution of turbine rotor becomes significant. Accordingly, the strain for each start-up or shut-down process is different. In the present study, the stress and strain during 21 iterations of continuous start-up, running and shut-down processes was numerically investigated by using the finite element analysis. The influence of high-temperature creep on low cycle fatigue was analyzed in terms of equivalent strain, Mises stress and low cycle fatigue damage. The results demonstrated that the life consumption of turbine rotor due to low cycle fatigue in the long-term operation of startup, running and shutdown should be determined from the full-time coverage of the load of turbine rotor.

The results of experimental studies have shown a strong effect of diffusion hydrogen on the static and cyclic parameters of crack resistance of reinforcing steel. It was found that with increasing flooding, especially when the hydrogen content exceeds 5 cm3/100g, both static strength and long-term strength (fatigue) decrease sharply. Moreover, these areas of hydrogen solution in reinforcing steel are characterized by a viscous nature of fracture, while for heavily flooded reinforcement (from 5 to 12 cm3/100g) is characterized by brittle fracture by the mechanism of microcracking in the hardened (martensite or troostite structure). The analysis of the obtained experimental results allowed to determine the optimal hydrogen content in the reinforcing steel (3…5 cm3/100g), the excess of which can cause a decrease in the crack resistance of the reinforcement during long-term operation, especially in corrosive environments. The mechanism of hydrogen influence on crack resistance of metal at static and alternating loading which consists in diffusion and dislocation movement of hydrogen in structure of a reinforcing core that as a result that causes strong flooding of steel and its embrittlement is offered. It is established that carbon and low-alloy sieves, which are characterized by ferritic-pearlitic and sorbitol structure provide high resistance, especially to long-term fatigue, and the transition to steels with a structure of martensite or tempered (transient structure of bainite) structure of bainite sharply reduces reinforcing steel, which makes it impossible to use in the manufacture of reinforcement involved in reinforced concrete structures designed for long-term operation (more than 50…60 years). Thus, the obtained diagram can be recommended to designers of reinforced concrete structures for hydraulic purposes, as it greatly facilitates the reasonable choice of reinforcement in the development of reinforced concrete structures for responsible and long-term use.
