AbstractDoes our personality predict what we see? This question was studied in 100 university students with binocular rivalry paradigm by presenting incompatible images to each eye, allowing multiple interpretations of the same sensory input. During continuous binocular presentation, dominance of perception starts to fluctuate between the images. When neither of the images is fully suppressed, the two images combine into mixed percepts. We focused on the link between mixed percepts, big-five traits, and empathy. The results revealed that openness and agreeableness correlated with the occurrence of mixed percepts after the first dominant perception. However, these correlations of openness and agreeableness were mediated by cognitive empathy. In addition, openness had a direct association with reporting the initial percept in the onset of stimulation as a mixed percept, suggesting a mechanism that is separate from the one mediated by cognitive empathy. Overall, the results provide preliminary evidence suggesting that personality predicts what we see. Such individual differences in perceptual interpretations may be linked to both higher level cognitive mechanisms as well as lower level visual mechanisms.

An analysis of secondary students’ personality traits, along with a description of their emotional intelligence levels and their anger control, could be decisive when educating students to prevent anti-social behavior in academia. Very few studies on personality, emotional intelligence, and aggressive conduct exist in Spain. Some of the studies that do exist, however, only explore the relationship between emotional intelligence, personality, and prosocial behavior in secondary education students. Likewise, there are few studies focusing on personality and aggression control. In this study, using the Big Five personality models as predictors of aggressiveness in subjects and of emotional intelligence, we sought to contribute to the improvement of the education of students on aggressive behavior in education centers. To do this, we conducted a study using the Big Five Personality Questionnaire (BFQ) for Children and Adults (BFQ-NA), the Trait Meta-Mood Scale (TMMS-24) emotional intelligence test, and the State–Trait Anger Expression Inventory (STAXI) anger management test. Our main objective was to analyze the relationship of the BFQ with the variables of emotional intelligence and aggressiveness. This was achieved using a range of bivariate correlation and multiple regression tests. The results showed the correlation and predictive value of emotional intelligence and aggression in the Big Five model of personality. This study coincides with other research linking Big Five questionnaires with emotional intelligence and aggression.

So far, the culture of civil servants is still at issue especially supported by personalities that are in the public spotlight in providing services to the community. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of a person's personality through Big Culture, Organizational Culture Overview and Balitbangda Employee Performance in Jambi Province and determine the relationship of influence between big five personality and organizational culture on employee performance both simultaneously and partially and to test organizational culture as a moderating variable on the influence Big five personality on performance. This study uses survey research techniques, census sampling techniques that are all Balitbangda employees as samples and data analysis is done descriptively and perivikatip. Descriptively describe the variables studied from the variables without testing. Perivikatip examine the relationship of influence between the independent variable and the dependent variable. The results of data processing indicate that descriptively Big Five Personality, organizational culture and performance are in the quite good category. The perivikatip test shows that there is a significant significant influence on the Big Five Personality of organizational culture and has a positive relationship. Organizational culture has a positive and significant influence on organizational performance, Big Five Personality has a positive and significant influence on performance. There is a significant mediating effect of the interaction of the Big Five Personality and Organizational Culture on the influence of the Big Five          Personality on the Performance of Balitbangda Jambi Province Employees

<p><strong>Abstrak</strong></p><p><strong>Tujuan </strong>- Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak frekuensi akuisisi informasi pada frekuensi perdagangan saham yang dimoderasikan oleh Kepribadian (Big Five Personality).</p><p><strong>Desain/Metodologi/Pendekatan - </strong>Data diperoleh langsung melalui penyebaran kuesioner kepada 304 responden yaitu investor muda (berusia 21 sampai 30 tahun) di Indonesia. The aim in this study was to examine the relationship of masculinity and femininity to the Big Five personality dimensions in a Chinese context. Using the Bem Sex Role Inventory (Bem, 1974) and IPIP Big Five factor markers (Goldberg, 2001), we assessed data from an Internet survey of 322 heterosexual men, 253 homosexual men, 942 heterosexual women, and 288 homosexual women in China. Controlling for age and education, masculinity was strongly predicted on extraversion, conscientiousness, intellect, and, to a lesser degree, on agreeableness, and femininity was predicted strongly on agreeableness across gender, sexual orientation, and occupation. The predictions of masculinity and femininity on emotional stability were very small, which may be a feature unique to Chinese culture.

The present study examines the relationship of adult attachment styles with personality and psychological and sociocultural adjustment. A sample of 847 first‐generation Dutch emigrants filled out measures for attachment styles, the Big Five, and indicators of psychological and sociocultural adjustment. Positive relationships were found between Secure attachment on the one hand and psychological and sociocultural adjustment on the other. Ambivalent attachment was strongly negatively associated with psychological adjustment. Dismissive attachment was mildly negatively related to sociocultural adjustment. Significant relations were found between attachment styles and the Big Five dimensions, particularly Extraversion and Emotional Stability. The attachment scales were able to explain variance in sociocultural adjustment beyond that explained by the Big Five dimensions. Intercultural adjustment is discussed from a transactional view of personality. Copyright © 2004 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Background: It seems that personality traits affect engagement and the quality of professional life, which is mediated by the emotional and affective states of nursing personnel. Therefore, the objectives of this study were to analyze the relationships between the components of empathy, affect, personality, and engagement, find personality profiles, identify the variables with the most explanatory value, and analyze the mediating role of the variables susceptible to intervention in the relationship between personality and the components of engagement. Methods: A sample of 1268 nurses completed the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale, 10-item Big Five Inventory, Basic Empathy Scale, and Positive and Negative Affect Schedule. Results: Empathy, affect, and personality influence engagement factors in nurses. The vigor and absorption factors of engagement showed a positive relationship with empathy, positive affect, and all of the Big Five personality factors except neuroticism with which the relationship was negative. Personality affected the vigor, dedication, and absorption factors of engagement, and cognitive empathy mediated this relationship. Conclusions: This study shows the need to continue investigating the factors that affect and mediate in engagement of nursing professionals.

<p><strong>Purpose:</strong> Personality traits represent an important driver of creativity. Several studies linked individual personality traits and creativity, yet in most cases, the literature provides contradictory insights. In this study, we quasi-replicate prior studies using a new sample to assess the reliability of previous research. Furthermore, we explore the topic in greater detail, as we also study the relationship of creativity with personality facets, a more fine-grained alternative.</p><p><strong>Methodology/Approach:</strong> The study uses a survey-based sample of students from Denmark. To measure personality traits and facets, we asked respondents to fill 44 items Big Five Personality Inventory. We measured creativity using three items from the HEXACO-60 personality inventory. The data were analyzed using generalized least squares models with gender as a control.</p><p><strong>Findings:</strong> In line with the previous literature, our research showed that Openness to Experience is positively related to creativity. We found similar, yet statistically weaker evidence for the relationship of Extraversion and creativity. In contrast to most of the previous findings, we also reported a negative relationship between Conscientiousness and creativity.</p><p><strong>Research Limitation/Implication:</strong> Our research contributes to the topic of the relationship between personality traits and creativity. Some of the relationships fall into the area where the literature is not coherent. We propose that the explanation may stem from the too broad formulation of personality traits, and we partially show that using personality facets. For this reason, future research needs to go into detail of individual personality traits.</p><strong>Originality/Value of paper:</strong> The paper provides further insight into the relationship between personality and creativity.
