Accurate estimation of the software performance and its reliability is an important task in designing, developing and implementing software as per the desired requirements. With the increase in individuals relying on software application in their daily lives has resulted in increase in demand for good quality software with efficient performance. The professionals in the software industry are facing an uphill task of developing software with efficient performance measure and at the same time capable of evaluating software performance. In order to evaluate software performance it is necessary to have a method to estimate the software performance. The estimation of software performance plays an important role in predicting acceptability and longevity of a software product. Software performance estimation is essential in existing software-dominated environment where part of daily life is directly or indirectly dependent on software for fulfilling requirements. In this chapter discusses the reasons underlying the proposals and shows the pitfalls associated to these software attributes.

The study aimed to reveal the effectiveness of the use of certain classroom language activities in teaching English language in the development of oral linguistic performance and decision-making among intermediate third-grade students in Makah, and it revealed a statistically significant correlation relationship between the averages of the study sample scores, in the post application for linguistic performance test, and measure of decision-making; and to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used two methods: descriptive approach and quasi-experimental design, per experimental group.

Ibn al-Qayam intermediate school was chosen randomly, and then the intermediate third grade was chosen deliberately, in the three grades altogether there were 90 students, in each class 30 students; and 3/3 experimental groups, of 30 students each were drawn, and represented the study material in linguistic classroom activities in the English language. Two tools were used: oral linguistic performance test in the English language, and the measure of decision-making; where they were applied on the study sample; after checking their validity and reliability, in the second semester in 2013, and after the end of the training period on linguistic classroom activities in English language classes, they were re-applied to determine the level of the students in each of: oral linguistic performance and the skill of decision-making.

The study yielded many results of which the most important were: the presence of statistically significant differences between the average score of the sample study in the two applications, pre and post for linguistic performance estimate card and the measure of decision-making; in each axis separately, and in the linguistic performance overall in the English language; and the skill of decision making; in favor of the post application, and the presence of statistically significant correlation relationship between the average scores of the sample study in the post-application linguistic performance estimate card; and the measure of decision-making. Based on the findings of the study results, there are a number of recommendations including: the need to give linguistic classroom activity programs their educational value and status in teaching English in general education, hold regular sessions for teachers and supervisors; to train them to employ linguistic classroom activities to learn English, and the integration of thinking in teaching English language; in order to provide them with modern educational trends in the field of active learning and development of thinking skills.

An method of calculation the displacement of wall pier in plastic zone under lateral force and axial force is proposed in this paper, which can reflect the failure behavior of wall pier at ultimate state observed from 9 RC slender solid shear wall specimens under reserve cyclic loading, and the contribution of both modes of flexural and shear deformation are considered. The comparison between analytical results and experimental results indicates the effectiveness of the method. By applying the method, performance estimate for shear wall under rare earthquakes can be conducted by engineering designer, dispense with complicated nonlinear analysis.

Implantable biomedical systems that enable the majority of the functions of wireless implantable devices have made significant progress in recent years. Nonetheless, due to limited miniaturization, power distribution limits, and the unavailability of a stable link between implants and external devices, such systems are primarily limited to investigation. Generating electricity from natural sources and human body movement for implantable biomedical devices has emerged as a viable option. Nowadays, energy sources become the emerging use of electricity grid which has formed new challenges for the effectiveness of power quality, efficient energy utilization and voltage stabilization for biomedical applications. Power quality in the implementation of the smart grid in biomedical devices is regarded to be the most problematic. APFs (Active Power Filter) are preferred to reward the related problems, mainly because they can quickly filter out of the PQ and are a dynamic compensation. The UPQC with a PI control unit with DC source to be converted to a three stage inverter based on Enhanced Whale Optimization Algorithm (EWOA) was precisely implemented in the article in order to eliminate voltage and current harmonics inadequate. Similarly, UPQC also used the Enhanced Whale Optimization Algorithm (EWOA). In this approach, UPQC along with EWOA (Enhanced whale optimization) has been introduced for voltage and current harmonics elimination defect specifically. Similarly, EWOA was too implemented with UPQC. UPQC & EWOA conducted a performance estimate by estimating a simulation, results on comparing the parameters of THD levels, load current and voltage. The performance estimate is also used and the results achieved are shown. In order to analyze THD values and validate the system performance, performance estimates are built and compared with THD values, load voltage and current parameters.
