When exposed to light, a novel nitroxide-benzophenone hybrid will undergo an energy transfer process whereby the nitroxide enters an excited state which induces an efficient hydrogen atom transfer from unactivated alkanes.

The energy transfer process between Tb3+ and Eu3+ ions in water-dispersible CaF2 nanocrystals prepared using a simple process is reported. Fine colour control and long excited state lifetimes make the nanosystem suitable for biosensing applications.

Heat has often been described as part of the energy transfer process. Information theory says everything is information. If everything is information then what type of information is heat, this question can be settled by the double slit experiment, but we must know what we are looking for.
