This article is based on a process evaluation carried out at the Department of Information and Library Studies (DILS) at the University of Wales Aberystwyth (UWA). The research investigated the effectiveness of the existing evaluation procedures for the BSc Econ in Information and Library Studies by distance learning. After briefly discussing the research process, the article then describes the findings in relation to the perceived gaps in the evaluation procedures, including the importance of disseminating the evaluation results. I t was found that changes to the course occurred in response to feedback from various sources and that evaluation data was used in ways that differ from their perceived purposes. Finally, the article relates these findings to the different concepts of quality found to be appropriate to a BSc ILS Distance Learning programme taught both on and off-campus.

The focus of this chapter is on reporting the qualitative research in peer-reviewed journal articles. Researchers may publish the qualitative data in a standalone journal article, or combine quantitative and qualitative process evaluation data in the same article, or combine the qualitative and RCT research in the same article. Writing these articles can be challenging, even when focusing solely on the qualitative research. Researchers need to consider the number of articles to be published from the whole study, the focus of each article, selecting a journal, and communicating implications for the RCT. Guidance is offered on the key issues to report in journal articles that focus solely on the qualitative research undertaken with an RCT.

Because of the high rates and deleterious consequences of sexual assault (SA) and partner abuse (PA) on college campuses, there is a proliferation of programming to both prevent and respond to these issues. Most research to date, however, presents outcome evaluation data on these programs and neglects to present process evaluation data which are critical for program refinement and dissemination. The purpose of this study was to present process evaluation data (i.e., acceptability and feasibility) specific to a program that endeavored to increase positive and decrease negative social reactions from disclosure recipients to individuals disclosing SA and PA. Participants were 303 students who completed the program and participated in postintervention surveys and a subset of students ( n = 18) who completed exit interviews. Results documented that the program was both feasible and acceptable, as evidenced by high satisfaction ratings. Important suggestions were also provided for how to improve the program, such as reducing repetition and making scenarios more realistic. Finally, participants who reported higher program engagement and more program usage generally reported more intentions to provide positive social reactions, less intentions to provide negative social reactions, and less actual negative social reactions. This information is useful not only for adapting the current program discussed herein but also for program developers and preventionists wishing to create similar programming to effectively prevent and improve response to SA and PA.

ABSTRACT Background The Tribal Health Resilience in Vulnerable Environments (THRIVE) study aimed to increase healthy food access in 2 rural American Indian communities. The intervention sought to increase fruit and vegetable availability, variety, and convenience through placement, promotion, and pricing of healthy foods and beverages in tribal convenience stores. Objective The aim of this study was to describe the development and implementation of the study process evaluation tool to assess intervention fidelity as part of this cluster-controlled trial. Methods Eight stores (2 intervention and 2 control stores per Nation) participated in the study, implemented from May 2016 to May 2017. A web-based survey tailored to store layouts and intervention components assessed how often intervention items were available, approximate quantity available, and whether placement of healthier food items and promotional materials were implemented as designed. After pilot testing the survey, tribal staff members implemented it to collect process evaluation data in the 8 stores during a period of 9–12 mo, assessing study implementation and potential changes in control stores. Results Promotional materials were available ≥75% of the time for most intervention locations. Fruit availability was similar in Nation A and Nation B intervention stores (79–100% compared with 70–100%), whereas fresh vegetable availability was higher in Nation B compared with Nation A (95–96% compared with 55–75%). Both control stores in Nation A and 1 control store in Nation B had moderate fruit and vegetable availability, ranging from 45% to 52%. No control stores in either Nation used intervention promotional materials. Conclusions Process evaluation data indicate that the study was implemented with moderate to high fidelity. The development and implementation of the tool can inform future healthy retail interventions that aim to improve rural and tribal food environments.

Abstract: Evaluation of swimming sports coaching programs for disabled athletes in the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) organization aims to assess the effectiveness of programs run by the South Kalimantan Province NPC by analyzing the role of each factor in accordance with the CIPP approach model. The CIPP model consists of four types of evaluations, namely: context evaluation, input evaluation, process evaluation. The data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive techniques. The results of the study were used for recommendations to all institutions/agencies/organizations in the field of sports in improving coaching for athletes with disabilities, especially in the field of swimming sports.
