This paper focuses on the process of convergence in per capita CO2 emissions that would occur if the measures taken by the European Union to meet the Kyoto Protocol commitments had been effective. We apply a time series and cross-sectional analysis to test for the existence of convergence among countries and for different economic sectors. The sample covers data for the 28 member countries from 1960 to 2012. The results show weak absolute convergence across countries but clear evidence of conditional convergence, with GDP, the weight of industrial sector and the use of renewable energies being the main drivers of divergence. Concerning sectors, there is an increase of emissions in the agricultural sector, but a reduction in the industrial and energy sectors. Different patterns arise in the energy subsectors where manufacturing and electricity notably reduced their emissions while the transport sector increased them in all countries.

This template takes the 30 completely state-owned and the scale above the manufacturing industry professions as the object of study, has surveyed the manufacturing industry entire essential factor productivity index, the technology advancement index and the technology efficiency index with the Malmquist productivity exponential method. The conclusion believed that Manufacturing industry showed continued growth in total factor productivity trends, mainly due to the raising level of technological progress, while the scale efficiency and pure technical efficiency was manifested as decreased.

Previous research has demonstrated that empowering women in developing nations has been shown to enhance agricultural productivity and rural development. Although women in Southeast Asia are often considered to be more empowered than in other parts of the world, in Thailand, women still experience persistent barriers to gender equality. In response, this case study examined the positionality of women in Thailand’s agricultural sector by describing their underlying beliefs and values regarding their careers. As a result, three distinct themes emerged: (1) dichotomous gender roles, (2) the perpetuation of gender stereotypes, and (3) positive perceptions and beliefs in gender equality and women’s abilities. The findings illuminated that despite having a distinctly positive perception of themselves and their abilities, women internalize prescribed gender stereotypes in the agricultural industry in Thailand. Such views appeared to impede the participants’ sense of empowerment in the agricultural workforce. Moving forward, we recommend that extension professionals design programming to empower women in Thailand by tailoring professional development opportunities based on regional differences in regard to gendered customs, norms, and traditions. Further, additional research should be conducted to distill the specific topic areas that could be used to stir critical reflection and action among women in Thailand’s agricultural sector. This study uses the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) slack-based model (SBM) and Malmquist Productivity Index (MPI) to evaluate energy efficiency based on CO2 emissions in 42 countries belonging to 6 continents. First, the data envelopment analysis was employed to calculate the efficiency scores for the countries individually and continent basis and then Malmquist index was used to examine the improvement. The study period chosen was 2011-2020. The results of this study showed that on the basis of continents there has been fluctuations in energy efficiency except for Australia, with an efficiency score of equal to one throughout the study period. Additionally, from the results of Malmquist Productivity Index it was found that the 42 countries showed no significant energy enhancement during the period of 2011-2020.
