Local exhaust ventilation allows maximizing the localization of hazards with minimum values of air exchange in the room. For the study, the design of a local exhaust in the form of an air-jet hood at an open doorway of the UKM Classic M 2005 chamber by Mauting was adopted. Geometric models have been developed, including a heat treatment chamber, a room from which the chamber is loaded, a supply and exhaust hood over the door from the chamber to the room, and a supply air duct with air distributing devices. The results of a computational experiment on modeling the operation of the local exhaust ventilation system of the heat treatment chamber are presented. The STAR-CCM+ software package was used as a calculation program. The calculation results were analyzed. The influence of the air exchange scheme (location of the supply devices) in the room on the efficiency of the local exhaust devices (supply and exhaust hood) has been established.

The flashback propensity of a premixed jet flame has been studied experimentally. Boundary layer flashback has been investigated under turbulent flow conditions at elevated pressures and temperatures (i.e., 3–8 atm and 300–500 K). The data presented in this study are for hydrogen fuel at various Reynolds numbers, which are representative of practical gas turbine premixer conditions, and are significantly higher than results currently available in the literature. Three burner heads constructed of different materials (stainless steel, copper, and zirconia ceramic) were used to evaluate the effect of tip temperature, a parameter found previously to be an important factor in triggering flashback. This study characterizes flashback systematically by developing a comprehensive nondimensional model which takes into account all effective parameters in boundary layer flashback propensity. The model was optimized for new data and captures the behavior of the new results well. Further, comparison of the model with the single existing study of high-pressure jet flame flashback also indicates good agreement. For a given equivalence ratio, the critical velocity gradient and bulk velocity at flashback vary exponentially with pressure. The pressure exponent of the critical velocity gradient was found to be close to 1.1 at fuel-lean conditions and becomes higher as equivalence ratio is increased. The developed dimensionless correlation is Da=Const·Le1.68·Pef1.91·(Tu/T0)2.57·(Ttip/To)−0.49·(Pu/P0)−2.1, which can be used to predict the boundary layer flashback propensity for given parameters.

Low-traumatic technology of grain separation from an ear is developed. It consists in influence of an air jet on an ear.It leads to rolling of an ear on a surface of the threshing device concave and causes its partial abrasion which is followed by grains separation. Process of wheat ears low-traumatic threshing in the experimental device yields satisfactory results, provides reduces grain endosperm damage on 10-12% in comparison with traditional technology. Germ of grain damage decreases by 5%.Crushing of grain made no more than 0,5%. Use of the developed technology of the low-traumatic threshing will allow to reduce grain damage of cereal crops in case of the harvesting. It is important by cereal breeding.
