Kata kunci: perilaku caring, mahasiswa keperawatan  ABSTRACTCaring in nursing is the most basic thing and must be taught early. Caring must  taught and instilled early, since students are at the first level, hopely when students are at the clinical learning stage, they can apply or treath the patients with nursing care. The purpose of this study was to determine the behavior of student caring. The qualitative design was used in this study with a phenomenology hermeneutic approach. Data collected with unstructured interview techniques were then analyzed with Van Manen techniques. The results showed that the students' knowledge about caring was limited to the definition of caring itself, while the caring behavior of students showed the difference between second, third and fourth level students. This study provides evidence that the higher level of education and the more practical experience that has been traversed is very influential on student caring behavior. This is very useful in order to improve nursing services for patients. Keywords: caring behavior, nursing students

This paper highlights findings from a literature search to examine the role of nursing education in preparing nurses to meet healthcare demands. The review focused on nursing students’ perceptions of nursing and whether these views change during their nursing studies and impact workplace preferences. Nursing students often enter their program with preconceived ideas of where they want to work following graduation. Large urban hospitals were favored over community care because of the perceived opportunities for support. Of particular importance were the negative views relating to care of elderly patients. Unless attitudes are changed during their nursing studies, they may affect initial job selection. Implications for nursing education include provision of educational experiences that foster an optimistic career outlook in areas where there is a growing need for nursing services. More research is needed to determine how to enable appropriate learning experiences when there are limited resources and practice placements.

Abstract: Audio Visual Learning, Competence, ECG Recording. This study aimed to determine the affect of audio-visual learning media to the level of students' competences of ECG recording. This research is a quantitative study with Quasy Experimental methods. The research design of this study used pre-test and post-test control group. The numbers of respondents were 44 nursing students of Poltekkes Surakarta. Dependent Test is used to pre-test and post-test in treatment groups and also pre-test and post-test in control group if data distributed normally, if not normal using Wilcoxon. Independent T tests is used to post-test in treatment and control group if data distributed normally, if not normal using Mann Whitney. Normality test data used Kolmogor-Smirnov. The P value of treatment and control groups, before and after the intervention, were similiar (0.000), P value <0.05. The conclusion of this study was audio-visual learning media has better effect on students' competences of ECG recording than using phantom media. So that, educators are expected to use audio-visual learning media as their learning media for students. Students are expected to have better skills in nursing services.

Many nursing schools and public schools are facing various challenges including a lack of resources. Schools of nursing strive to provide meaningful clinical experiences despite the challenge of a limited supply of quality placements. Similarly, public schools are expected to provide more nursing services at a time when many school nurses already are overloaded. For example, new state legislation placed additional responsibilities (regarding epinephrine auto-injectors and cardiac emergency response plans) on school nurses in Michigan. Establishing a partnership between the University of Michigan–Flint and the Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD) allowed RN to BSN students in the community health nursing course to complete enriching clinical experiences at selected GISD schools. While gaining valuable clinical knowledge, these nursing students helped school nurses comply with the new legislation’s requirements. This partnership benefitted the nursing students, the school nurses, and the schools that served as clinical placement sites. Nursing school administrators and faculty members should consider pursuing similar clinical placement partnerships that could be advantageous for students and local communities.

An ever-ageing population and widening health inequalities intensify the complexity of care that is now delivered within community settings by district nurses. Appropriate referral criteria are required to facilitate the enhancement of efficient and equitable district nursing service provision. This study aimed to explore district nursing students' perceptions and experiences of district nursing referral criteria in Northern Ireland. A qualitative phenomenological approach was adopted using a purposive convenience sample of 10 district nursing students. Data were collected during online focus group interviews and analysed using a thematic framework. Four themes emerged: referral criteria; insight and inconsistency; task versus patient-centred care; and misunderstanding the service and referral quality. The themes reflect a lack of consensus with respect to referral criteria, contributing to inappropriate and poor-quality referrals. Appropriate and quality referrals to district nursing services are key to assuring sustainable service provision. Suitable access to district nursing services may be enhanced by developing consensus referral criteria.

Provoked by the Faculty of Nursing’s graduate career prospective, ‘nurse in international nursing services’, this study aimed to investigate the Englishes nursing students were in favour of and the Englishes they needed for their future career and to find out their perceptions toward English as a Lingua Franca (ELF). Taking the form of a case study, this study collected data through open-ended questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The findings generally highlighted paradoxes in participants’ views of ELF. Students were found to be in favour of Standard English (SE), although in the future what they truly expected from patients was the intelligibility to create therapeutic conversation. Furthermore, the participants seemed to be aware of the variety of Englishes in existence but believed that SE should be taught in class. This study also found out that local accents speak for their cultural identity. Therefore, the implication of the study calls for attention to the potential benefits of introducing ELF and provides some recommendation of how ELF could be best introduced at classrooms.
