AbstractMesoporous SBA-15 silicate with a high surface area was prepared by a hydrothermal method, successively modified by organic melamine ligands and then used for deposition of Pd nanoparticles onto it. The synthesized materials were characterized with infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), nitrogen physisorption, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) coupled with energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and inductively coupled plasma (ICP-OES). The catalyst was effectively used in the Mizoroki–Heck coupling reaction of various reactants in the presence of an organic base giving the desired products in a short reaction time and with small catalysts loadings. The reaction parameters such as the base type, amounts of catalyst, solvents, and the temperature were optimized. The catalyst was easily recovered and reused at least seven times without significant activity losses. Graphic Abstract

This paper describes the synthesis of Pd-containing catalysts based on nonfunctionalized hypercrosslinked polystyrene via impregnation with Pd acetate. Developed Pd nanoparticulate catalyst allowed achieving conversion of aryl halide up to 90% in Suzuki cross-coupling reaction under mild conditions and at the absence of phase-transfer agents. During the selective hydrogenation of triple C-C bond of 2-methyl-3-butyn-2-ol, up to 96% selectivity with respect to corresponding olefinic alcohol was found at 95% conversion. The influences of the procedure of catalyst synthesis like precursor decomposition and reductive activation method on Pd nanoparticle formation are discussed.

An ultrasensitive electrochemical immunosensor was developed for detecting CD146. rGO-TEPA enhanced the loading capacity of Ab1 and facilitated the electron transfer. Au and Pd nanoparticles on the TiO2 colloidal sphere facilitated the decomposition of H2O2. The immunosensor exhibited an extremely low detection limit of 1.6 pg mL−1 for CD146.

Pd nanoparticles with multi-edges and corners are prepared and assembled on reduced graphene oxide to examine the electrocatalytic activity. Point discharge is regarded to be capable of facilitating the electron transfer.
