Epoxycyclohexane-epichlorohydrin polyether polyol was synthesized by using epoxy cyclohexane and epichlorohydrin as raw materials, glycerol as an initiator, dichloromethane as solvent and aluminum chloride as catalysis. The structure of the copolyether was characterized by infrared (IR) spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and its viscosity was determined. The results showed that the structure and viscosity properties of the products prepared by using aluminum chloride as the catalyst and the boron trifluoride diethyl ether catalyst were basically the same, but the aluminum chloride was more environmentally safe and lower in cost. At the same time, the polyurethane coating film prepared by using the copolyether synthesized by using aluminum chloride as a catalyst had excellent performance.

Hydroxylapatite(HAP) nano-whiskers are prepared by reaction-precipitation in the submerged circulative impinging stream reactor(SCISR), with (NH4)2HPO4 and Ca(NO3)2 as the reagents; and the products are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results TEM measured indicate that the product prepared under typical operation conditions is average-sized 15nm and 50-70nm long. Multiply repeated experiments illustrates that, because of the excellent performance of the reactor, the preparation process can be easily controlled to yield nano rod/whisker hydroxylapatite with very narrow size distribution.

Thiophene derivative polymer is an important kind of conductive polymers. They often have good electrochemical activity, environment stability and ease of processing. Here, 3-bromothiophene and 3-thiophenezoic acid as monomers, using chemical oxidation approach, the poly (3-thiophenezoic acid) (PTPA), the copolymer of 3-bromine thiophene (BTP) and 3-thiophenezoic acid (TPA) are synthesized in the media of chloroform or methanol. The structures of both polymers are characterized with FT IR, NMR and UV-vis. The results showed that the reactivity of TPA can be improved after alkalizing. The copolymer has strong absorption in the UV region. Its absorption band and intensity are higher than that of PTPA.
