Under single scattering conditions, water droplets clouds do not depolarize the backscattered light. However, backscattered light from multiple scattering will be depolarized. The level of depolarization is a function of the droplets size and of the cloud extinction coefficient value and its profile; it has also a strong dependency on the lidar field-of-view (FOV) and azimuth angle [1]-[3]. It has been demonstrated in [4] that the multiple scattering cross polarization signal can be reduced to a second order scattering one using the azimuthal dependency of the cross polarization. In this paper we present how the multiple scattering cross polarization can be reduced to a second order scattering and how this signal is related to the droplet particle size. Monte Carlo simulations for clouds at different ranges and effective radius sizes are performed and compared with the results obtained with an analytical model.

In certain latitude areas, fruit growth is determined by the slope between 5° and 20°. According to the designed sunny slope direction and the parallel lines to the slope direction, we take two adjacent rows of the hedge to meet certain condition of the sun light, and draft the chart of shadow top contour based on the solar azimuth angle A and the coefficient of shadow length γ to get crown space of the rectangular cross section in different ground of slopes. Then, the crown section lateral is changed to get mathematical models which determine the crown space of different cross sections in hedgerow orchard.

Al2O3 ceramic plates of diameter 166 mm and thickness 5 mm were subjected to frictional loading regimes. The resultant residual stress effect in the material was analyzed using the sin2y and AP methods based on a modified measurement condition for the pole angle y and the azimuth angle F on a 4 cycle goniometer. Furthermore, the frictional loading of the Al2O3 plates lead to clear differences in the residual stress state near the surface. An underlying correlation was observed between the residual stress state of the Al2O3 material and its residual strength with this effect being ascribed to the magnitude of frictional load applied.

It is now possible to determine proper motions of high-velocity objects in such a way as to obtain with some accuracy the velocity vector relevant to the Sun. If a potential field of the Galaxy is assumed, one can compute an actual orbit. A determination of the velocity of the globular clusterωCentauri has recently been completed at Greenwich, and it is found that the orbit is strongly retrograde in the Galaxy. Similar calculations may be made, though with less certainty, in the case of RR Lyrae variable stars.
