We present an experimental study on articulation in bowed strings that provides important elements for a discussion about sound synthesis control. The study focuses on bow acceleration profiles and transient noises, measured for different players for the bowing techniquesdetachéandmartelé. We found that maximum of these profiles are not synchronous, and temporal shifts are dependent on the bowing techniques. These results allow us to bring out important mechanisms in sound and gesture articulation. In particular, the results reveal a potential shortcoming of mapping strategies using simple frame-by-frame data-stream procedures. We propose instead to consider input control data as time functions, and consider gesture co-articulation processes.

Presently in shipbuilding, transportation and aerospace industries, the potential to apply welding using laser and laser-arc hybrid heat sources is widely under research. This study has the purpose of comparing the weldability depending on the arc mode by varying the welding modes of arc heat sources in applying laser-arc hybrid welding to aluminum alloy and of implementing efficient hybrid welding while controlling heat input. In the experimental study, we found that hybrid welding using CMT mode produced deeper penetration and sounder bead surface than those characteristics produced during only laser welding, with less heat input compared to that required in pulsed arc mode.

According to the characteristics of underwater production facilities manufacturing workshop, controlling the production information platform data stream based on bar code management. Firstly, the business model of workshop is analyzed and the data stream of production process is extracted. Secondly, the product information structure tree is designed to control data flow of production information platform. In this way, the data of production information platform can be guaranteed constraints, integrity and uniqueness. Finally, according to the information related products information structure tree, the bar code rules are makes, ensure the data acquisition of process to be more efficiently and accurately. The production process can be monitored and managed in real-time, the production efficiency is improved.

Partisan selective exposure to online COVID-19 news articles is hypothesized to increase one’s exposure time to politically opinion-reinforcing news when exposed to a more opinion-reinforcing news environment and to increase one’s exposure time to politically opinion-challenging news when exposed to a more opinion-challenging news environment. This blocked 2x3 within-subjects experimental study crossed partisan stance (Pro Jokowi vs. Pro Anies) as the blocking factor with news conditions as the experimental factors (Pro vs. Contra vs. Control). The study randomly assigned 216 participants living in the Jakarta metropolitan area during the COVID-19 pandemic to two experimental and one control group for each stance (Pro Stance, Contra Stance, Control). Data shows how participants significantly spent more time on politically opinion-reinforcing news when in the Pro Stance condition, compared to when in the Contra Stance condition, and compared to when in the Control condition. Participants only significantly spent more time on politically opinion-challenging news when in the Contra Stance condition as compared to when in the Pro Stance condition, but not significantly as when compared to in the Control condition. The study took a look at how partisan selective exposure may play out in a certain news environment and found how a polarized news environment would lead to a more polarized exposure, which could get disastrous as it may play a role in people’s behavior towards the COVID-19 pandemic. Hence, getting ourselves accustomed to perspectives from an equal news environment could lead us to be less polarized, and therefore be wiser at determining our standpoints towards the COVID-19 pandemic.

This article presents the development of a "Super-Twist" controller based on stochastic events to solve the problem of building control in a network multi-agent system in the presence of an external disturbance. The stochasticity in the system is introduced by randomness of network uncertainties i.e. losses and delays of data packets. The proposed controller structure consists of two parts. The first part outputs an event trigger condition for updates to the input control data of each agent in the system. The second part guarantees the desired construction in a finite time by determining the upper limit of the time to reach the specified sliding surface of each agent. The proposed stochastic design is tested on mobile robots. The results show a triple efficiency of the stochastic structure. They are a) retaining the advantages of event-triggering strategy, b) retaining the advantages of super-twisting sliding mode controller, and c) robust towards network uncertainties

The tilted beam illumination method is used to improve the resolution comparing with the axial illumination mode. Using this advantage, a restoration method of several tilted beam images covering the full azimuthal range was proposed by Saxton, and experimentally examined. To make this technique more reliable it seems that some practical problems still remain. In this report the restoration was attempted and the problems were considered. In our study, four problems were pointed out for the experiment of the restoration. (1) Accurate beam tilt adjustment to fit the incident beam to the coma-free axis for the symmetrical beam tilting over the full azimuthal range. (2) Accurate measurements of the optical parameters which are necessary to design the restoration filter. Even if the spherical aberration coefficient Cs is known with accuracy and the axial astigmatism is sufficiently compensated, at least the defocus value must be measured. (3) Accurate alignment of the tilt-azimuth series images.
