Abstract Black phosphorus (BP) is a two-dimensional and layered elemental semiconductor that is very sensitive to the subtle fluctuation of relative humidity (RH). However, the practical application of BP material was undesirably plagued by the irreversible degradation under moisture/oxygen atmospheres. To circumvent this limitation, here we prepared BP co-doped with benzyl viologen (BV) and Au nanoparticles as the sensing layer and explored the humidity-sensing performance at room temperature (20 oC). Unlike BP (BP-BV) counterparts, BP-Au (BP-BV-Au) sensors demonstrated unvaried response polarity with increasing RH. And BV introduction improved the recovery characteristics. Additionally, the ternary BP-BV-Au sensors delivered decent selectivity and negligible hysteresis. On the one hand, the in situ reduction of Au nanoparticles consumed lone electron pairs within BP, suppressed the interaction with ambient moisture/oxygen, and improved the operation stability and recovery. On the other hand, hydrophobic BV as the protection layer further hindered water attachment. This co-doping behavior reduced the hole density and ensured the predominant interaction between low-energy sorption sites within BP and water molecules, thus leading to a larger resistance modulation (i.e., stronger response) and quicker reaction kinetics. This work offered a feasible method to propel the practical application and enriched the sensing mechanisms of BP-based humidity sensors.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are involved in the regulation of cell physiological activity and the reconstruction of extracellular environment. Matrix vesicles (MVs) are a type of EVs, and they participate in the regulation of cell mineralization. Herein, bioinspired MVs embedded with black phosphorus are functionalized with cell-specific aptamer (denoted as Apt-bioinspired MVs) for stimulating biomineralization. The aptamer can direct bioinspired MVs to targeted cells, and the increasing concentration of inorganic phosphate originated from the black phosphorus can facilitate cell biomineralization. The photothermal effect of the Apt-bioinspired MVs also positively affects mineralization. In addition, the Apt-bioinspired MVs display outstanding bone regeneration performance. Considering the excellent behavior of the Apt-bioinspired MVs for promoting biomineralization, our strategy provides a way of designing bionic tools for studying the mechanisms of biological processes and advancing the development of medical engineering.<br>

Aim and Objective: Ultrafine Ag/ZnO nanotetrapods (AZNTP) have been prepared successfully using silver (I)–bis (oxalato) zinc complex and 1, 3-diaminopropane (DAP) with a phase separation system, and have been injected into a diethyl/water solution. Materials and Methods: This crystal structure and lattice constant of the AZNTP obtained were investigated by means of a SEM, XRD, TEM and UV-vis spectrum. Results: The results of the present study demonstrated the growth and characterization AZNTP for humidity sensing and DAP plays a key role in the determination of particle morphology. AZNTP films with 23 nm in arm diameter have shown highly sensitive, quick response sensor material that works at room temperature.

Few-layer exfoliated black phosphorus (Ex-BP) has attracted tremendous attention owing to its promising applications, including in electrocatalysis. However, it remains a challenge to directly use few-layer Ex-BP as oxygen-involved electrocatalyst because it is quite difficult to restrain structural degradation caused by spontaneous oxidation and keep it stable. Here, a robust carbon-stabilization strategy has been implemented to prepare carbon-coated Ex-BP/N-doped graphene nanosheet (Ex-BP/NGS@C) nanostructures at room temperature, which exhibit superior oxygen evolution reaction (OER) activity under alkaline conditions. Specifically, the as-synthesized Ex-BP/NGS@C hybrid presents a low overpotential of 257 mV at a current density of 10 mA cm−2 with a small Tafel slope of 52 mV dec−1 and shows high durability after long-term testing.
