Plasmonic Au nanoparticles inject electrons into TiO2 and reduce water to hydrogen at a Pt cathode. Positive charges left in the Au nanoparticles are extracted by NiO and used for methanol oxidation.

Organic long-persistent luminescence (OLPL) was achieved through photo-induced charge separation, charge accumulation, and emission from charge recombination. The presence of thermal activation processes in the OLPL system was confirmed.

Herein, we investigated that sheet-like TiO2mesocrystals with controllable nanothorns on the {101} facet during the topotactic transformation exhibit facet-induced charge separation and anisotropic electron flow, realizing the superior facet-dependent photocatalysis in solar energy conversion.
