The fluorescence assay for detecting Pseudomonas aeruginosa was achieved by the aptamer-CDs/GD system which exhibited obvious fluorescence recovery when encountered the cells of P. aeruginosa.

By preparing biocompatible carbon dots (CDs) that act as the scaffold and fluorescence reference, a ratiometric fluorescent nanoprobe based on Tb3+ ions functionalized CDs was designed and fabricated to detect an anthrax biomarker with high selectivity and sensitivity.

The fluorescence of carbon dots self-assembled multilayers (CDs SAMs) can be enhanced by graphene, the sensing sensitivity for tetracycline hydrochloride of CDs SAMs with graphene is two orders higher than that of SAMs without graphene.
