The paper considers the task of synthesis of algorithms for identifying random parameters of a vessel, such as attached masses, moment of inertia, and estimating the current parameters of the vessel's motion from real-time measurements of onboard sensors. The task of the synthesis of algorithms for identifying random parameters of the vessel and evaluating the characteristics of the vessel’s movement is to determine (evaluate) the current parameters (attached masses, moment of inertia) and the characteristics of the vessel’s motion (position vector, speed) from the measurements of the vessel’s motion, angular position and angular velocity of the vessel rotation).

The purpose of this article is to obtain a comprehensive mathematical description of the kinematics of a double-toggle jaw crusher. The driving mechanism of the crusher is modeled as a planar six bar linkage. Two closed position vector loops that characterize the configuration of the mechanism are used to derive expressions for the angular position, velocity and acceleration of the moveable jaw. Dimensional data of a typical double-toggle jaw crusher are used in the derived mathematical expressions to demonstrate their application. Moreover, starting with the equation for the angular velocity ratio of the moveable jaw, with respect to the input crank, an expression for the ideal mechanical advantage of the crusher is derived. The expressions derived in this paper provide the foundation for further investigations into the mechanics and the design of the double-toggle jaw crusher.

To simulate echoes from the earth’s surface in the low flight mode, it is necessary to reproduce reliably the delayed reflected sounding signal of the radar in real time. For this, it is necessary to be able to calculate accurately and quickly the dependence of the distance to the object being measured from the angular position of the line of sight of the radar station. Obviously, the simplest expressions for calculating the range can be obtained for a segment or a plane. In the text of the article, analytical expressions for the calculation of range for two-dimensional and three-dimensional cases are obtained. Methods of statistical physics, vector algebra, and the theory of the radar of extended objects were used. Since the calculation of the dependence of the range of the object to the target from the angular position of the line of sight is carried out on the analytical expressions found in the paper, the result obtained is accurate, and due to the relative simplicity of the expressions obtained, the calculation does not require much time.

Contradictious results published by different authors about the dynamics of systems with random parameters have been examined. Statistical analysis of the simple 1st order system proves that the random parameter can cause a systematic difference in the dynamic behavior that cannot be (in general) described by the usual constant-parameter model with the additive noise at the output.

When rotary machines are running, acousto-mechanical signals acquired from the machines are able to reveal their operation status and machine conditions. Mechanical systems under periodic loading due to rotary operation usually respond in measurements with a superposition of sinusoids whose frequencies are integer (or fractional integer) multiples of the reference shaft speed. In this study we built an online real-time machine condition monitoring system based on the adaptive angular-velocity Vold-Kalman filtering order tracking (AV2KF_OT) algorithm, which was implemented through a DSP chip module and a user interface coded by the LabVIEW®. This paper briefly introduces the theoretical derivation and numerical implementation of computation scheme. Experimental works justify the effectiveness of applying the developed online real-time condition monitoring system. They are the detection of startup on the fluid-induced instability, whirl, performed by using a journal-bearing rotor test rig.

This problem is a generalization of the classical problem of the stability of a spinning rigid body. We obtain the stability chart by using: (i) the computer algebra system MACSYMA in conjunction with a perturbation method, and (ii) numerical integration based on Floquet theory. We show that the form of the stability chart is different for each of the three cases in which the spin axis is the minimum, maximum, or middle principal moment of inertia axis. In particular, a rotation with arbitrarily small angular velocity about the maximum moment of inertia axis can be made unstable by appropriately choosing the model parameters. In contrast, a rotation about the minimum moment of inertia axis is always stable for a sufficiently small angular velocity. The MACSYMA program, which we used to obtain the transition curves, is included in the Appendix.

Abstract In this paper, a rotational robotic arm is designed, modelled and optimized. The 3D model design and optimization are conducted by using SolidWorks. Forward kinematics are derived so as to determine the position vector of the end effector with respect to the base, and subsequently being able to calculate the angular velocity and torque of each joint. For the goal positioning problem, the PD control law is typically used in industry. It is employed in this application by using virtual torsional springs and frictions to generate the torques and to keep the system stable.

This work presents the development and implementation of a System for Acquisition of Rotations composed of an open-source Arduino electronic prototyping platform and a Supervision and Data Acquisition System (SCADA). This system obtains instantaneous values for frequency, linear velocity, and angular velocity, and the graphical representation of said instantaneous values is in real-time. Thus, the proposed system is a mediator of learning for the teaching of Circular Movement Uniform, with theoretical/practical interaction essential in classes for understanding the content.
