We describe our efforts to study the production of neutron-rich isotopes from peripheral reactions of medium-mass heavy ions with the MAGNEX spectrometer at the INFN-LNS in Catania, Italy. Experimental data were obtained for the 70Zn+64Ni reaction at 15 MeV/nucleon. For the analysis of the data, we developed a new procedure for the reconstruction of both the atomic number Z and the ionic charge q of the ions, which is then followed by the identification of the mass. Preliminary results and the analysis plan will be discussed.

This contribution will report on the experimental work on the level structure of 168Dy. The experimental data have been taken as part of the EURICA decay spectroscopy campaign at RIBF, RIKEN in November 2014. In the experiment, a 238U primary beam is accelerated up to 345 MeV/u with an average intensity of 12 pnA. The nuclei of interest are produced by in-flight fission of 238U impinging on Be target with a thickness of 5 mm. The excited states of 168Dy have been populated through the decay from a newly identified isomeric state and via the β decay from 168Tb. In this contribution, scientific motivations, experimental procedure and some preliminary results for this study are presented.

The energy loss for swift heavy ions, covering Z=3-29(~0.2 - 5.0MeV/n), has been calculated in the elemental absorbers like C, Al and Ti. The present calculations are based on Bohr’s approach applicable in both classical and quantum mechanical regimes. The major input parameter, the effective charge, has been calculated in a different way without any empirical/semi-empirical parameterization. The calculated energy loss values have been compared with the available experimental data which results in a close agreement.

AbstractData are presented from several systems for which the emitted X-ray intensity goes through a maximum as accelerating voltage is increased. An attempt is made to systematize the data in terms of absorption, wavelength, and atomic number. A very simple model, analyzed graphically, is capable of displaying many of the features of the experimental data.

A combined dynamical model using concept of dinuclear systems (DNS) and one-dimensional (1D) Langevin equations was applied to investigate the effect of entrance channel on dynamics of heavy ions collision. The [Formula: see text]Si+[Formula: see text]Er, [Formula: see text]O+[Formula: see text]W and [Formula: see text]F+[Formula: see text]Ta reactions which formed the compound nucleus [Formula: see text]Pb have been considered to study this effect. We studied these reactions dynamically and calculated the ratio of evaporation residue cross-section to fusion cross-section [Formula: see text] as a tool for investigation of entrance channel effect. Results of combined model are compared with available experimental data and results of 1D Langevin equations. Obtained results based on combined model are in better agreement with experimental data in comparison with results of Langevin equations. We concluded for [Formula: see text]Si+[Formula: see text]Er and [Formula: see text]F+[Formula: see text]Ta reactions the results of combined model that support the quasi-fission process are different relative to Langevin dynamical approach, whereas for [Formula: see text]O+[Formula: see text]W system the two models give similar results.

In this research, a theoretical study was made to calculate electronic stopping power for heavy charged particles (Protons, Alpha particles, Heavy ions (C,O)) which interact with atomic targets (H,C,O,Si) by using the equation which resulting from distant and close collisions ,as it has been calculating the effect of  atomic number (Z1) for projectiles and the effect of  atomic number (Z2) for targets on the electronic stopping power in range velocities (v=vo,2vo,5vo,10vo).              Mathematical approximative methods are used in the calculation and some of the equation programmed by Matlab language to obtain the theoretical result which is shown in the graphic.
