Inspired from fish bionics, an anulus-shaped ciliary structure for four-unit MEMS vector hydrophone (AFUVH) is proposed in this paper. It replaces the previous bionic cilium-shaped structure and becomes a novel sensing structure in the four-unit MEMS vector hydrophone (FUVH), which realizes the complete simulation of the fish lateral line neuromasts structurally and functionally. It not only improves the sensitivity of FUVH, but also retains a sufficient bandwidth, which improves the overall performance of FUVH for monitoring remote ships noise. Meanwhile, this paper theoretically analyzes the performance of AFUVH for detecting acoustic signals. ANSYS 17.0 simulation is used to derive the parameters of effective structure and optimum dimension structure of annulus-shaped ciliary structure. Finally, the experimental results show that comparing with cilium-structured FUVH, the sensitivity of AFUVH with effective structure is increased by 3.92 dB, and the sensitivity of AFUVH with optimum dimension structure is increased by 5.87 dB, reaching up to −177.53 dB.

This paper describes the main characteristics of the Foundation Fieldbus (FF) technology considering both communication levels, namely H1 and H2, which have bit rates of 31.25 K and 1 00 Mbit/s, respectively. Several details about the physical layer, communication stack and user layer will be highlighted. Topics related with the configuration of instruments, as well as the design and implementation of supervision software, based on a LabVIEW interface, will be presented. A pilot plant that includes temperature, pressure, level and flow variables will be used to test and validate the capabilities of FF systems. Experimental results will be analyzed, their meaning discussed and the overall performance evaluated.

In order to better solve the problem of detection of small bone spurs with convenient and accurate way, a portable spur detection system is designed. This system, in view of spur reproducibility characteristic, is characterized by the application for a kind of the improved algorithm based on the OpenCV. And it was successfully transplanted into the embedded system. The experimental results indicated that this system might precisely examine the small spur with difficulty discovery by naked eyes used fully by two images of computed tomography which done in different periods. The spur detection system needs to be further improved function to realize more applications. In fact, function expansion based on the system is easy to realize.

The article proposed a new method for implementing linear phase FIR filter based on FPGA. For the key to implementing the FIR filter on FPGA—multiply-add operation, a parallel distributed algorithm was presented, which is based on LUT. The designed file was described with VHDL and realized on Altera’s field programmable gate array (FPGA), giving the design method. The experimental results indicated that the system can run stably at 120MHz or more, which can meet the requirements of signal processing for real-time.

Wavelet package and neural network are used to recognize the characteristics of pipeline leakage acoustic signals. Acoustic signals produced by pressure variation of pipelines can be detected by the acoustic sensors installed on the pipelines. The detecting accuracy can be increased with recognizing the acoustic signals correctly. The method to detect acoustic signals by combining the wavelet package and neural network is introduced in this paper. The signal is decomposed with wavelet package firstly, then the decomposed coefficients in each frequency band are obtained through reconstruction. As a result, the parameters of the new sequences reconstructed on every decomposed node are acquired, and then these parameters are input to BP neural network to recognize the fault reason intelligently. At the end of the paper, field experiment data and their analyzed results are studied. The experimental results are provided to show that the proposed method can increase the accuracy efficiently.

The performance of adversarial dialogue generation models relies on the quality of the reward signal produced by the discriminator. The reward signal from a poor discriminator can be very sparse and unstable, which may lead the generator to fall into a local optimum or to produce nonsense replies. To alleviate the first problem, we first extend a recently proposed adversarial dialogue generation method to an adversarial imitation learning solution. Then, in the framework of adversarial inverse reinforcement learning, we propose a new reward model for dialogue generation that can provide a more accurate and precise reward signal for generator training. We evaluate the performance of the resulting model with automatic metrics and human evaluations in two annotation settings. Our experimental results demonstrate that our model can generate more high-quality responses and achieve higher overall performance than the state-of-the-art.

This paper describes the design and implementation of the reconfiguration mechanism for a modular humanoid robot. To aid researchers in their works and enable users to request various tasks, humanoid robots are expected to require such reconfiguration mechanism. A robot with the proposed reconfiguration mechanism potentially consists of several functional modules such as arms, mobile components, and heads, and can be used as some kinds of humanoid robots or as several autonomous functional robots. We evaluated the efficiency of our proposed reconfiguration mechanism through the experiences using reconfigurable modular humanoid robot prototype R1. Experimental results show that the proposed mechanism achieves expandable and flexible reconfiguration for researchers and users by changing the robot configuration to different types of robots for many purposes. We believe that our humanoid robot with the proposed reconfiguration mechanism will enable user-specific humanoid robots more easily than ever before.

In order to improve the speed and accuracy of the existing product, a new automated hemorheology analyzer is designed and implementation in this paper. In the new analyzer, the whole blood and plasma with different characteristics are tested by different systems, which work in parallel and independently. The design and implementation of the new hemorheology analyzer including hardware and software design are put forward. Experimental results show that the performance of the new instrument, such as efficiency and test speed are both improved in the new instrument.
