This research was conducted in automotive manufacturing industry company in Indonesia. There is one Key Performance Index that needs to be fixed, that is the process mounting actuator bracket. The type of trouble that can occur on the actuator bracket is on the quality of the mounted bracket. The bracket mounting process is carried out using three bolts on each side which must be mounted with a predetermined torque value of 5.4 Nm. Manually process can cause bolt on one side or more. Based on data from the Quality Assurance network, the process diagnostic table or tightening has shown less optimal installation process of actuator bracket on actuator brake in Jundate Trimming. The absence of line stop detection on a jig can cause a torque process error on one or more bolts. We modify the mechanical design of the pokayoke system. While the jig design is not modified there is only the addition of clamp systems that serves to determine the position of the work piece, proximity sensor as a detector work piece, and push button as a button to distinguish the work piece between ABS work piece and VSC on jig. This pokayoke system is based on Programmable Logic Controller control. This pokayoke system design prevents the occurrence of damaged bolts on screw threads when mounting an imperfect actuator bracket.

This research was conducted in one of automotive manufacturing industry of shock absorber. Air remaining is the process of preparing Shock Absorber to achieve ideal conditions i.e. ready to test the quality of its damping power. The trick is to remove the gas fluid contained in the cylinder so that the fluid remaining in the cylinder is just the oil fluid. If there is still a gas fluid left in the cylinder at the moment of the damping test, the Shock Absorber will experience momentary loss of power and this will greatly affect the quality of the Shock Absorber. The high frequency of repetition in the process of testing the quality of the damping power Shock Absorber on the Damping Force Tester machine due to not ideally Shock Absorber condition. This condition is one of them caused by the error of method in previous process that is air remaining process. Based on the above problems, then we research and design of new methods of operation of auto air remaining machine and design the control system. The method used is to utilize the gravity and the density of the two types of fluid, namely oil and gas to optimize the elimination process in Auto Air Remaining machine. The gas fluid can be perfectly eliminated. Control system design using Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). The Input and Output of PLC has used are 19 of inputs and 19 outputs. This method ensures the removal of the remaining air process.

Sequential control using ladder logic, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and operator interfaces are commonly used in the manufacturing industry today. The introduction course of programmable logic controller is a course that needs a lot of practice. We present a project-based approach to teaching it by introducing real engineering projects into the process of theory teaching. The students show more enthusiastic during learning course and their abilities of solving engineering problems are greatly enhanced.

Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) merupakan suatu piranti yang dibuat sebagai pengganti kumpulan relai-relai mekanik yang digunakan dalam sistem kontrol. PLC berkerja dengan cara membaca instruksi-instruksi dari masukannya. Karena PLC pada umumnya memiliki harga yang cukup mahal dan hanya beberapa orang yang dapat mempelajarinya, maka dibuatlah PLC trainer. PLC trainer dirancang menggunakan mikrokontroler Arduino Uno, modul input (berupa: toggle switch, push button, dan limit switch), dan modul output (berupa: LED, seven segment, motor DC, dan buzzer). PLC trainer juga dilengkapi prototype lampu lalu lintas sebagai modul output simulasi lampu lalu lintas empat arah. PLC trainer memanfaatkan LDmicro untuk membuat pemrograman ladder diagram dengan instruksi-instruksi sesuai dengan keinginan programmer dan menggunakan software Xloader untuk upload program ke Arduino Uno. Dari hasil pengujian diperoleh bahwa mikrokontroler Arduino Uno dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai PLC trainer untuk modul pembelajaran.Kata kunci: Programmable Logic Controller, Arduino Uno, modul input-output, lampu lalu lintas

Crane merupakan alat yang digunakan untuk mempermudah dalam memindahkan dan mengangkat suatu barang. Peneltian ini bertujuan untuk membuat sistem mini crane untuk optimalisasi pemindahan barang berbasis otomasi industri yang memanfaatkan PLC (programmable logic controller) sebagai kontroler dan pneumatik sebagai aktuatornya. Sistem ini menggunakan PLC Mitsubishi sebagai pengendali utama. PLC bekerja berdasarkan masukan yang diperoleh dari selector switch untuk memilih sistem kerja manual atau otomatis. Terdapat push button sebagai tombol start dan stop, limit switch sebagai pembatas gerak sumbu X dan Y dari Rodless Cylinder untuk memindahkan barang, proximity sensor untuk mendeteksi keberadaan dari barang yang akan dipindahkan dan yang telah dipindahkan. Pada hasil penelitian ini sensor yang digunakan untuk mendeteksi jenis material benda kerja menggunakan sensor proximity inductive. Dalam satu proses crane membutuhkan waktu maksimal 15,37 detik.  Berat maksimal yang dapat dihisap vacuum pada tekanan 3 bar adalah 650g, pada tekanan 4 bar adalah 950g, dan pada tekanan 6 bar adalah 1059g.
