This research presents the user interface design for natural science learning media in the form of snakes and ladders game for 4th grader of elementary school. Natural science becomes a problem for children because the way the teacher explains and media used is not maximal. The result is presented when students got poor grade and understanding. Elementary school children characteristic is playful, playing become the most effective way for children to learn. Snakes and ladders game developed by Daluti Delimanugari is used as learning media of natural science but this media still lack flexibility and practically. Technology is interesting to children because it presents motions, dimensions, sounds, colors, songs and varying materials. Children do not get those advantages from using other media. Therefore, this paper suggested a solution which is snakes and ladders game application as learning media for natural science. User-centered design used for designing the user interface focuses on the characteristic, task and environment of the users. The results of usability testing of the ladder snake game application that has been built obtain an average of 88.8%.

This essay examines whether contemporary design is undergoing a decline in its standards of professional and pedagogic quality, due to an identity crisis which has apparently been affecting the field since the late sixties. In light of Confucius’ “rectification of names” imperative, various linguistic and aesthetic implications associated with the alleged loss of design conceptual benchmarks of the very identity and definition of the design discipline and profession are explored. It analyses concrete situations in which narratives on design seemingly weaken its bonds with objective exterior reality, arguably leading to the deterioration of previously valued and nurtured patterns and canons of excellence in technical, aesthetic, linguistic, methodological, and, above all, moral terms in the discipline of design. Attention is also given to a relatively common trend displayed – often, but not always– by “neo design specialists” of erasing conceptual boundaries around the design field, in order to establish subdomains within the greater discipline of design. These tend to be marked by pleonastic and tautological, but nevertheless impressive terminology, such as “information design”, “interface design”, “interaction design”, “user-centered design”, “user-experience design”, “user-interface design”, “communication design”, “experimental design”, “authorial design”, “handicrafts design”, “modern design”, “contemporary design”, “emotional design”, “meta-design”, “sustainable design”, “design systems”, “design thinking” and more, which then subdivides the territory of design amongst various “neo-design specialists” by suggesting, in some instances, the possibility of isolating conceptual attributes (such as, respectively, “information”, “interface”, “interaction”, “user experience”, “user interface”, “design conceptual models and methodological approaches” and so on) from the very identity of the integral design discipline itself. In this context, Confucius’ message of the “rectification of names” may thus be perceived as an important and timely call.

The tourism agent information system is an information system that brings together people who need tourism agents with tourism agent providers. This information system contains offers of tourism packages in several well-known tours that are often visited, this system is also available with request packages which will be directed to the admin to confirm with the desired request package. This system does not only contain offers about tour packages but also provides information and education about these tours, making it easier for users to choose the desired tour packages because they have received education or an overview of the tour. The development stages implemented include surveys, needs analysis, dedication, and implementation. Surveys and needs analysis serve as stages used in finding target users and their needs. User Interface Design is used to make user interaction as simple and efficient as possible, in terms of achieving user goals or what is often referred to as user-centered design. Conversion of the user interface design is done by choosing the right programming language on the web and generating an information system.

AbstractWebsite is an integrated media delivery of information provided through the Internet network so that it can be accessed by anyone and anywhere very easily. The utilization of the website not only in small and large commercial companies but also in educational institutions in this case is the University of Sriwijaya, its own website has been very rapidly growing from User Interface sessions to feature features provided which progressively grows to follow the needs of the User. In this study the authors conducted an analysis on the Website of Sriwijaya University to measure the feasibility of User Interface on the website by using UCD method (User centered Design). UCD is a user interface design process that focuses on interface, accessibility, and Usefulness in user interface design that involves the user as the center of the process by providing input or assessment in the form of questionnaire. The final result of this study is the User Interface assessment of the UNSRI website (Sriwijaya University) conducted by the user. And from the results of this study found that 43.8% of students expressed satisfaction on the Interface of the UNSRI’s website.  Keywords: UCD, User Interface, User Centered Design, website.
