The purpose of asphalt pavement structural design is to get a materially-coordinated and structurally-durable product, and a pavement structure with good road performance by combining the structural layer materials reasonably. However, due to lack of a rational evaluation index on the parameter combinations of structural layer materials, the structural layer materials are poor in terms of coordination, have low efficiency, and the actual use period is much lower than the designed working life. Therefore, it is very important to conduct research evaluating the coordination of the structural layer materials. In this study, the sensitivity of mechanical parameters and equivalent envelope area are proposed as new indexes to evaluate the coordination of material design of asphalt pavement structure layers. Software is developed to calculate the equivalent envelope area that can quantitatively evaluate the coordination among different layers and visualize the mechanical transfer behavior of each structural layer. Based on the equivalent envelope area index, this study incorporates two new steps in the design of pavements, namely the structural form comparison and optimization, and proposes a new structural design process. Finally, the rationality and reliability of the equivalent envelope area index are verified by presenting fatigue life calculation and field verification in a test road. The results propose a clear evaluation index of the coordination of material design of each structural layer, which makes the structural design of the asphalt pavement more scientific and reasonable.

Abstract In order to improve the traffic safety of the tunnel pavement and reduce the impact of water seepage on the pavement structure, a convolutional neural network (CNN) model is established based on image detection technology to realize the identification, classification and statistics of pavement seepage. First, compared with the MobileNet network model, the deep learning model EfficientNet network model was built, and the accuracy of the two models was analyzed for pavement seepage recognition. The F1 Score was introduced to evaluate the accuracy and comprehensive performance of the two models for different types of seepage characteristics. Then the three gray processing methods, six threshold segmentation methods, as well as three filtering methods were compared to extract water seepage characteristics of digital image. Finally, based on the processed image, a calculation method of water seepage area was proposed to identify the actual asphalt pavement water seepage. The result shows that the recognition accuracy of the EfficientNet network model in the training set and the validation set are 99.85% and 97.53%, respectively, and the prediction accuracy is 98.00%. The accuracy of pavement water seepage recognition and prediction is better than the MobileNet network model. Using the cvtColor function for gray processing, using THRESH_BINARY for threshold segmentation, and using a combination of median filtering and morphological opening operations for image noise reduction can effectively extract water seepage characteristics. The water seepage area calculated by the proposed method has a small difference with the actual water seepage area, and the effect is agreeable.

There are many kinds of materials and technology for asphalt pavement crack treatment. There are difference in treatment effect and the time spent, and significant differences between the treatment cost. In order to select reasonable crack treatment process and material, to choose the crack maintenance of advanced technology and environmental protection, it is necessary to put forward a scientific and reasonable method of asphalt pavement crack treatment. Three new concept of evaluation method of asphalt pavement crack treatment are put forward, such as durability evaluation index, economy evaluation index and process evaluation index. On this basis, the evaluation method of single asphalt pavement crack treatment is put forward, while the index of the quality of raw materials are determined.

In order to make the decision of preventive maintenance of asphalt pavement, this paper analyses the related research, and finds the problems in the evaluation index system of preventive maintenance. Based on the characteristics of asphalt pavement and the actual maintenance demand, the evaluation index system of preventive maintenance of asphalt pavement is constructed.
