Seven experiments explore people’s decisions to share or withhold personal information, and the wisdom of such decisions. When people choose not to reveal information—to be “hiders”—they are judged negatively by others (experiment 1). These negative judgments emerge when hiding is volitional (experiments 2A and 2B) and are driven by decreases in trustworthiness engendered by decisions to hide (experiments 3A and 3B). Moreover, hiders do not intuit these negative consequences: given the choice to withhold or reveal unsavory information, people often choose to withhold, but observers rate those who reveal even questionable behavior more positively (experiments 4A and 4B). The negative impact of hiding holds whether opting not to disclose unflattering (drug use, poor grades, and sexually transmitted diseases) or flattering (blood donations) information, and across decisions ranging from whom to date to whom to hire. When faced with decisions about disclosure, decision-makers should be aware not just of the risk of revealing, but of what hiding reveals.

The Covid-19 pandemic has generated major changes in society, most of them having a negative impact on the quality of life and income obtained by the population and businesses. The negative consequences have been highlighted in the decrease of the GPD level for regions, countries and even continents. Returning to pre-pandemic levels is a considerable effort for both economic and political decision-makers. This article deals with the construction of a mathematical model for economic aspects in the context of variable productivity in time. Through this mathematical model, we propose to maximize revenues in pandemic conditions, in order to limit the economic consequences of the lockdown. One advantage of the proposed model consists in the fact that it is based on units that can be regions, economic branches, economic units or fields of investment. Another strength of the model is determined by the fact that it offers the possibility to choose between two different investment strategies, based on the specific options of the decision makers: the consistent increase of the state revenues or the amelioration of the disparity phenomenon. Furthermore, our model extends previous approaches from the literature by adding some generalization options and the proposed model can be applied in lockdown cases and seasonal situations.

'Hook -ups'- emotionally uninvolved sexual encounters are becoming more and more rooted in popular culture, reflecting the changing social and sexual attitudes. Hook-up behavior may include a wide range of sexual activities such as kisses, oral sex and penetration. Hook-up raises the anxiety of many researchers due to many negative consequences, such as sexual violence, sexually transmitted diseases, emotional disorders and / or unplanned pregnancy. The aim of the study was to answer the question: how often do Polish and Ukrainian students take sexual relations with strangers?

The article is devoted to the description of the main directions of artificial intelligence application in the Commercial courts of the Russian Federation – in analytical and organisational work, in the work on adjudication, analysis and interpretation of the rule of law, in control over the adoption and execution of court decisions, in forensic examination. The experience of using artificial intelligence systems in the judicial systems of the Great Britain, the USA, the Netherlands was analysed, and three main directions of using the AI in legal proceedings were distinguished. Based on the practice of using the AI systems, legislation, the principles of the European Ethical Charter for the use of the AI in judicial and law enforcement systems, researchers' forecasts, both the expected positive and possible negative consequences of the use of artificial intelligence in this area are indicated. Use of the AI in legal proceedings can optimise the work of the judicial system, contribute to the suppression of biased, subjective attitudes, corruption and the possibility of judicial error, and at the same time it causes some problems and risks. These include the abidance of ethical principles by the AI, the impossibility of ensuring transparency and verifiability of court decisions made by the artificial intelligence system, the lack of legislative consolidation and legality, and the protection of personal information. In the conclusion, recommendations for prevention of the negative impact of the introduction of the AI systems into arbitration proceedings are given.

Singer’s concept of syndemic, which signifies the combined presence of two or more diseases within a population, where these diseases represent the consequences of the way of life or living conditions of the population in question, is applied to intravenous drug use in Belgrade. The diseases which are taken into account are HIV/AIDS, HCV, pulmonary diseases and sexually transmitted diseases. It is shown that the circumstances which are inherent to the milieu of intravenous drug use, and which otherwise influence its formation, also influence the development of syndemics within it, or rather its establishing as a factor of the syndemic, the major epidemiological basis of which is constituted by HCV.
