South-eastern Anatolia has the largest agricultural areas and the countryside living in this region are engaged in agriculture. Loans extended to agriculture by banks are considered to contribute to regional development as a support to the sector. In this paper, the relationship between the GDP of the South-eastern region and the loans extended by the banks to the agricultural sector in this region were investigated in the period of 1988-2017. Lee-Strazicich structural break test and Dolado-Lütkepohl and Bootstrapt causality test was applied to determine the causal relationship between the variables in the analysis. Unlike the others this paper contributes to the literature as it examines the effect of agricultural loans on the development of the region and different tests are used. As a result of the study, the breaking years of the series were determined and interpreted economically. In addition, bi-directional causality relationship between regional growth and agricultural loans was determined. It can be said that agricultural loans contributed to regional development in the South-eastern Anatolia region. It can be presented as a policy proposal that increasing the loans extended to the sector in the region. The effectiveness of agricultural loans can be increased by controlling the use of loans by supervision of on-site use of.

Seasonal changes in abundance, lipid and fatty acid composition of Calanus euxinus Hulsemann, 1991 were analysed monthly during the period from March 2012 to February 2013. The highest abundance of C. euxinus was recorded in February (847 ind. m-3) during the sampling period. Female and male C. euxinus peaked in February (587 ind. m3, 169 ind. m-3, respectively). However, copepodites peaked in November (107 ind. m-3). Average total lipid content was determined as percentage (%) and per individual (mg ind-1). It was proportionally highest in February (7.03%) and lowest in September (3.02%). However, average lipid content per individual was highest in February (0.11 mg ind-1) and lowest in September and November (0.04 mg ind-1). Major fatty acids in C. euxinus were identified as 16:0, 16:1 n-7, EPA and DHA. ΣSFA, ΣMUFA, ΣPUFA and ΣHUFA were observed to be correlated with temperature. ΣSFA and ΣMUFA increasedwith the rise in temperature (r2=0.74, r2=0.73, p<0.05, respectively) whereas ΣPUFA and ΣHUFA increased as temperature decreased (r2=-0.73, r2=-0.80, respectively, p<0.05). Additionally, while ΣPUFA and ΣHUFA increased (r2=0.61, r2=-0.68, respectively, p<0.05), ΣMUFA decreased (r2=-0.68, p<0.05) as chlorophyll-a increased. It was observed that the degree of unsaturation increased as temperature decreased. Results of the study revealed that C. euxinus has rich lipid content as well as fatty acid composition and it plays an important role in the South-eastern Black Sea ecosystem functionalities especially having key role in energy fluxes to higher trophic levels.

Abstract The status and distribution of diurnal raptor bird species were analysed in the south-eastern part of Turkey based on studies and records between 1994 and 2014. Our information about raptor species is very limited in the south-eastern Anatolia Region. The study showed that of 42 diurnal raptor species listed in Turkey, 37 of these species were found in the studied region; 9 of them are certainly, 4 probably and 1 possibly breeding in the area - according to the breeding criteria of the EBCC - while 17 of them were transitory migrating or wintering birds for the region, and the breeding/migratory status of 6 is unknown. Habitats lost and fragmentation related to agricultural intensification together with pesticide applications are the main hazards threatening wildlife including raptors in the region. So as to increase knowledge on raptors in south-eastern Anatolia and evaluate their populations, a coordinated education and research program is essential.
