A plasma produced by a helical RF structure of the Lisitano type is investigated. Measurements of electron density, electron temperature, and plasma stability are reported as a function of RF frequency and power, magnetic field strength and geometry, and neutral argon pressure. It is concluded that at moderate power (~20 W), electron cyclotron resonance is important in the power absorption process.

In this paper, self-designed electrospinning equipment was used to make a series of electrospinning experiments with materials of polypropylene. The influences of the receiver area, the upper plate area, and the overlapping area between the receiver and the upper plate, on the melt spinning electric field, the spinning efficiency, and the fiber diameter, were investigated respectively. The results showed that when the other parameters were kept unchanged, with the increase of the receiver’s diameter, the electric field strength and spinning efficiency increased, and the fiber diameter increased at first and then decreased; the bigger the overlapping area between the receiver and the upper plate, the more stable the vertical spinning path.

Norder to find the best high-voltage electrostatic radiation seed program, to select two different kinds of cucumbers, vegetables, paddy rice seeds, each seed be divided into 5 experimental groups, and be treated by high voltage electrostatic field (HVEF) at different field strength and time, and testing and statistics of the seeds vigour at germination stage. The results indicated that the greater the radiation field to same seed, the shorter radiation time is required, and vice versa. For each species, E•t tends to a constant (the constant is different in different species). Be proved by mathematical derivation that the HVEF radiation transport essentially energy to the seed, and then will be able to find the best way for HVEF radiation seeds. Study of the effect of dielectrophoresis (DEP) parameters is important in high-precision DEP assembly of carbon nanotubes (CNTs). The DEP parameters usually considered in the literature include the magnitude and frequency of the applied voltage, the assembly time, the concentration of the CNT suspension, and the geometry of the electrodes. This paper reviews the current progresses on both numerical and experimental study of the CNT assembly by DEP, especially the influence of the DEP parameters on the assembly process and results. The review shows that the magnitude of the applied voltage affects the DEP force and the number of deposited CNTs. The assembly time and CNT concentration influence the density of deposited CNTs. Different electrode geometries have an effect on the distribution of the electric field. The electrode spacing changes the field strength and the direction of the field gradient. The related discussion is presented as well.

Owing to its unique properties and wide engineering applications, magnetorheological fluids (MRF) has become a hot study area in the field of smart materials. In this paper experimental study of the microwave reflection behavior in MRF was carried out. The results indicated that at the same frequency the microwave reflectivity of MRF decreased with the increasing of magnetic field strength; and with the particle concentration increasing, microwave reflectivity first increased, then decreased, there is a critical concentration of 15%. Under the same magnetic field, with the increasing of microwave frequency, it first decreased, there is a lowest point at 9.2GHz, and then it increased. Usually, it is considered that the change of internal structure of MRF under external magnetic field is the main reason for the regulation behavior of microwave reflectivity.

In this paper, experimental study of the microwave reflection behavior in MRF was carried out. The results showed that at the same frequency the microwave reflectivity of MRF decreased with the increasing of magnetic field strength; and with the increasing of particle concentration, microwave reflectivity decreased, monotonously. Under the given magnetic field, with the increasing of microwave frequency, it first decreased, there is a lowest point at 9.2GHz, and then it increased. Usually, it is considered that the change of internal structure of MRF under external magnetic field is the main reason for the regulation behavior of microwave reflectivity.
