Introduction. Low-rise housing construction is an area that has extensive potential in Russia. One of the top-priority objectives, pursued by public politicians in the Russian Federation, is to improve the energy efficiency of versatile branches of the national economy. Given the fact that the building construction, representing a comparatively short stage in the building’s life cycle, is energy consuming, energy saving in the process of construction turns particularly relevant. Prevailing manual labour and low-capacity construction machinery substantially reduce power consumption at the stage of low-rise housing construction. Widely spread low-rise construction technologies and consequent discrepancies in structural and technological solutions determine the mode of operation, numbers and the engineering performance of construction machines. Hence, energy resources, to be consumed in the process of mechanized work performance on a construction site, is projected, and these projections may differ. As for the rational expenditure of resources, consumption of fuel and energy can be expediently planned at the stage of construction project scheduling. Materials and methods. The co-authors have analyzed scientific publications focused on the subject of research, applied organizational and construction process patterns developed in the form of work performance schedules needed to regulate fuel consumption in the process of mechanized work performance, whenever low-rise construction technologies are used. Results. The co-authors offer a set of instruments, designated for the calculation of fuel consumption in the process of mechanized work performance, whenever low-rise construction technologies are used. Conclusions. At the project planning stage, the fuel consumption rate analysis, applicable to construction machines and mechanisms, enables to (1) project the amount of fuel consumed in the course of specific construction works performed within the framework of the whole process of construction, (2) to identify technologies and mechanized units which are most rational in terms of power consumption.

Abstract The study aimes at identification of the difficulties in choosing the correct concept of the main building process. The use of a proper BIM design may help the user avoid mistakes and make the building process faster as well as less financial resource intensive. The authors focused on literature review, analysing the difficulties of the BIM design software technology in construction project planning. The biggest flaws in BIM design are inherent in three building process stages: 1) the preparation of a building investment project, and the analysis of the existing situation; 2) the preparation of the building execution technology project; 3) the existing standard processing and information collection in building exploitation period. The analysis shows a persistent need for a deeper BIM design research, to improve information interchange formats that would ensure as much design information saved as possible with ensured feedback. As well as in BIM design, the software packages must be improved by supplementing them with deficient tools or programme codes. After the research of BIM design software, it was determined that architectural, constructional and MEP programs work best interdependently and get analysed the most. These programs work best as they make the least number of mistakes when the model is created in one setting and has many tools. This type of design software data is kept internally, and they are converted into IFC or other information interchange format. Without changing the format, the data is not lost, and this is the reason behind fluent information interchange.

In a study of the properties of a Ta-Au metallization system for thin film technology application, the interdiffusion between Ta(bcc)-Au, βTa-Au and Ta2M-Au films was studied. Considered here is a discussion of the use of the transmission electron microscope(TEM) in the identification of phases formed and characterization of the film microstructures before and after annealing. The films were deposited by sputtering onto silicon wafers with 5000 Å of thermally grown oxide. The film thicknesses were 2000 Å of Ta and 2000 Å of Au. Samples for TEM observation were prepared by ultrasonically cutting 3mm disks from the wafers. The disks were first chemically etched from the silicon side using a HNO3 :HF(19:5) solution followed by ion milling to perforation of the Au side.
