Abstract With the continuous development of computer technology and industrial design technology, the traditional manual drawing design method has seriously affected the effect of industrial design. The research on computer-aided industrial design system has gradually attracted the attention of experts and scholars. This paper expounds the application characteristics of computer-aided industrial design technology from CAD industrial design technology in detail, and finally designs the computer-aided industrial design system according to the more mature hierarchy method and structure method, and conducts detailed analysis and comparison of specific components.

A VLCC (very large crude oil carrier) has approximately 1000 curved longitudinal beams, many of which have three-dimensional complicated curvatures. Due to the shortage of highly skilled workers and the need to keep costs down, production and structural designers have worked to reduce the number of such beams. In order to meet the requirements of production, the authors' company has attempted several design approaches for the longitudinal beam layout to reduce the number of beams that have complicated curvature. Recently, through the application of a computer-aided design system, which has been improved for shipbuilding based on the Calma's system, a new design method for the longitudinal beam layout has been successfully developed. A significant number of beams with a twisted configuration have been eliminated and replaced with beams of simpler, two-dimensional shapes. This paper shows the transition of these design approaches, and the application of the new design to building a VLCC.

This article presents architecture of integrated intelligent computer-aided design system for designing mechanical power-transmitting mechanisms (IICADkmps). The system has been developed in C# program environment with the aim of automatising the design process. This article presents a modern, automated approach to design. Developed kmps modules for calculation of geometrical and design characteristics of mechanical power-transmitting mechanisms are described. Three-dimensional geometrical parameter modelling of mechanical power-transmitting mechanisms was performed in the computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing/computer-aided engineering system CATIA V5. The connection between kmps calculation modules and CATIA V5 modelling system was established through initial three-dimensional models – templates. The outputs from the developed IICADkmps system generated final three-dimensional virtual models of mechanical power-transmitting mechanisms. Testing of the developed IICADkmps system was performed on friction, belt, cogged (spur and bevel gears) and chain transmitting mechanisms. Also, connection of the developed IICADkmps system with a device for rapid prototyping and computer numerical control machines was made for the purpose of additional testing and verification of practical use. Physical prototypes of designed characteristic elements of mechanical power-transmitting mechanisms were manufactured. The selected test three-dimensional virtual prototypes, obtained as an output from the developed IICADkmps system, were manufactured on the device for rapid prototyping (three-dimensional colour printer Spectrum Z510) and computer numerical control machines. Finally, at the end of the article, conclusions and suggested possible directions of further research, based on theoretical and practical research results, are presented.

3D design technology is the basis for the modern computer graphics. AutoCAD 2015 is a powerful version of computer-aided design system. We can solve complex tasks, without which this instrument can’t be solved in general. Using 3D design technology we not only save time working with a drawing. The geometric models are the foundation of the design basics, for working with drawing we can create projections, footnotes, sections and other modern graphics elements. AutoCAD can use and process the data from the model. This progressive design technology includes all parts of the design, starting from machine details, furniture and finishing with architectural forms of complex object models.

Application technology of computer-aided design to large-scale long belt conveyor is presented. A new software system of belt conveyor design based on the standard CEMA has been developed in which the object-oriented technology and new optimal design method with the standard CEMA were adapted. The profile and operation of belt conveyor can be modeled on real-time by means of visual dynamic components and efficient database management. It is proved that the system is available in design, convenient in operation, rapid in optimization, efficient in calculation, and visual in modeling.

The automatic creation of garment parametric computer aided design (PCAD) pattern to special body size is rarely classified and need to be finished with man machine interface at present. This has become a critical and challenging issue to hinder the intelligence process of the garment computer aided design (CAD). In this paper, the basic research aimed at the automatic correction pattern of the special size on the womens jacket CAD system was investigated. The popular special size of women trunk and pattern amendment was selected as research subject, and the relationship between the body characteristics and coat pattern Fig. were set up. The full-scale constraint was developed and the expertise description about womens jacket patterns were finished with the parametric design method based constraint. The mathematic formula and logical definition relation are used to establish relationship with the formed model characteristics of womens jacket patterns. The system then carry and keep the design of womens jacket pattern and the correction logic, and finish the creation and correction of the geometric model to womens jacket pattern. The expertise knowledge of womens jacket pattern correction is applied by the design of method database. The paper performs the basic research and analysis for the rules database creation in the PCAD system, and makes it possible to the research of intelligent womens jacket pattern design system based body size. It will play an active role to transform traditional design concepts and means.
