The book traces major concepts including: the creation of the visual effects of accuracy through careful action and training; the development of visual judgment and connoisseurship; the role of a network in the production of knowledge; balancing readers’ expectations with representational conventions; and the effects of acts of collecting on the creation and circulation of knowledge. On the one hand, this study uncovers that approaches to knowledge production were different in the seventeenth century, as compared with in the twenty-first century. On the other, it reveals how the early modern struggle to sort through an overwhelming quantity of visual information - brought on by major changes in image production and circulation - resonates with our own.

At present, image restoration has become a research hotspot in computer vision. The purpose of digital image restoration is to restore the lost information of the image or remove redundant objects without destroying the integrity and visual effects of the image. The operation of user interactive color migration is troublesome, resulting in low efficiency. And, when there are many kinds of colors, it is prone to errors. In response to these problems, this paper proposes automatic selection of sample color migration. Considering that the respective gray-scale histograms of the visual source image and the target image are approximately normal distributions, this paper takes the peak point as the mean value of the normal distribution to construct the objective function. We find all the required partitions according to the user’s needs and use the center points in these partitions as the initial clustering centers of the fuzzy C-means (FCM) algorithm to complete the automatic clustering of the two images. This paper selects representative pixels as sample blocks to realize automatic matching of sample blocks in the two images and complete the color migration of the entire image. We introduced the curvature into the energy functional of the p-harmonic model. According to whether there is noise in the image, a new wavelet domain image restoration model is proposed. According to the established model, the Euler–Lagrange equation is derived by the variational method, the corresponding diffusion equation is established, and the model is analyzed and numerically solved in detail to obtain the restored image. The results show that the combination of image sample texture synthesis and segmentation matching method used in this paper can effectively solve the problem of color unevenness. This not only saves the time for mural restoration but also improves the quality of murals, thereby achieving more realistic visual effects and connectivity.

Abstract Introduction. To investigate the association between OCT biomarkers and visual prognosis, based on TCED-HFV,and to explore whether these biomarkers have predictive value in visual prognosis of DME patients.Methods. The retrospective study included 166 eyes from 122 DME patients, who received 3 initial monthly intravitreal injections followed by PRN dosing. Results. The significant improvement of BCVA, as well as statistical decrement of CMT and HF, could be observed(p < 0.001, P=0.023, P=0.002, respectively). The BCVA in early and advanced DME is significantly better than that in severe DME in baseline (P=0.027, P=0.009, respectively) and 1 year (P=0.017, P=0.030, respectively). The broken EZ/ELM was generally accompanied by the existence of SF (P=0.032). The presence of DRIL and persistence SF were associated with negative visual effects (P<0.001, P=0.045, respectively). At month 12 the mean BCVA was significantly improved in both intact and disrupted EZ/ELM groups (P=0.023, P=0.033, respectively). The number of the DME patients with ERM increases after treatment (P<0.001).Conclusions. Intact EZ/ELM, the absence of DRIL and ERM might contribute to better response in patients. The persistence SF was a negative factor. Intravitreal anti-VEGF therapy was associated with ERM development and progression. It is not objective to consider only the OCT biomarkers but not the stages, and the indicators of different stages should be studied separately.

The study aimed to uncover the level of use of modern television technologies and their impact on increasing the watching of news programs on Jordanian television. The study used a descriptive and analytical approach, and the data were collected through developing a scale for the use of modern television technologies for news programs. The sample of the study consisted of (110) workers and technicians in news programs on Jordanian television, chosen by the available deliberate sample method. The results of the study showed that the use of modern television technologies increases the degree of television viewing, especially watching news programs. The study also showed that Jordanian television still uses old television technologies. The study recommended the necessity of transforming Jordanian television into the HD broadcasting technology system instead of the SD system and working on training employees on modern television technologies (infographic, graphics, audio effects, and visual effects).

Rain will cause the occlusion and blur of background and target objects and affect the image visual effect and subsequent image analysis. Aiming at the problem of insufficient rain removal in the current rain removal algorithm, in order to improve the accuracy of computer vision algorithm in the process of rain removal, this paper proposes a multistage framework based on progressive restoration combined with recurrent neural network and feature complementarity technology to remove rain streak from single images. Firstly, the encoder-decoder subnetwork is adapted to learn multiscale information and extract richer rain features. Secondly, the original resolution image restored by decoder is used to preserve refined image details. Finally, we use the effective information of the previous stage to guide the rain removal of the next stage by the recurrent neural network. The final experimental results show that a multistage feature complementarity network performs well on both synthetic rainy data sets and real-world rainy data sets can remove rain more completely, preserve more background details, and achieve better visual effects compared with some popular single-image deraining methods.
