Lampung Province is the center of Robusta coffee production while Arabica coffee has begun to be developed in the area, including in Harapan Jaya Village, Way Ratai Subdistrict, District of Pesawaran. This village is an ecotourism destination and also has a potential of agrotourism, especially Arabica coffee farming. The objectives of the Community Service Activities are: 1) Increasing knowledge and skills of farmer group members in Arabica coffee agrotechnology; 2) increasing coffee plantation productivity through proper maintenance; and 3) Formulating a model of strengthening farmer group based on coffee agrotourism. This program was carried out at the Karya Subur Farmer Group, in Harapan Jaya Village in year 2018–2019. The methods used are discourse, training, demonstration plots, mentoring, and discussion. The results of this program conclude that: 1) Increasing the knowledge and skills of farmer group members in Arabica coffee agrotechnology; 2) Increasing productivity of coffee plantations plot belonging to the group members assisted; and 3) a model of strengthening of farmer groups based on coffee production and agrotourism is through increasing group capacity in tourism and tourism activities related to the coffee production process from upstream to downstream, increasing accessibility and facilities coordinated with village officials, and increasing agro tourism promotion especially to educational institutions, professionals, and communities.

The largest area of local coffee plantation in West Sumatera Province is in the District of Solok, that covers the area around 9,300 Ha, with the annual production of  8,500 Ton. There are two varieties of coffee in this District, arabica and robusta. The area of robusta coffee is around 7,700 Ha that are much larger than arabica  of 1,600 Ha. Although the price of arabica coffee is much higher than robusta, farmers prefer to cultivate robusta coffee mainly due to its resistance to plant diseases, low maintenance cost and higher demand compare to arabica coffee. Since the Robusta coffeeisthe second largest of local plantationaftercasiaverain Solok. There is a need for the district government to get a suitable development not only for the benefit of local farmers but also for regional development of Solok district itself. This study applied descriptif qualitative method to analyze the interrelationship of agribusiness sub-systems and its potential aspect. The results shows that the interrelationship of four subsystems of the agribusiness of Robusta coffeeagribusiness were not strong enough to face the influences from the external factors of the systems. This, then guided the recommendation to improve the competitiveness ofthe Robusta coffee, mainlyby increasingthe qualityand appearance of its market form and itsdairy products. Keywords: Robusta coffee, Solok-West Sumatera, Potential Aspect

Physiological races of Radopholus similis Cobb., the burrowing nematode that attack coffee trees have never been reported yet, while two physiological races have been identified, i.e. banana and citrus races. Banana and citrus are commonly used as the shading trees or crop diversification in coffee plantation. Therefore, both races have to be analyzed whether the same as the race that attacking the coffee plants. Research to investigate the physiological race of R. similis Cobb. had been conducted in the screen house at Indonesian Coffee and Cocoa Research Institute, Jember. The experiment was arranged in randomized complete design with three replications, while cross inoculation tests were used as race identification method, by using three isolates from banana, citrus and Arabica coffee as the control. Tested host plants were banana Cavendish, ‘Ambon Kuning’ and ‘Raja’ varieties, rootstock of citrus Siam from Kintamani and Arabica coffee Kartika 1 variety. The expression of virulence of three nematode isolates against banana, citrus or arabica coffee tested to be considered as favorable host, while the most virulent isolate attacked coffee could be decided as physiological race of coffee. Results showed that banana isolate penetrated and attacked the roos of arabica coffee. The isolate of R. similis from citrus could not attack both coffee and banana varieties. Therefore, the physiological race of coffee was considered similar with the banana race. It was possible that the physiological race was specific race but it could attacke banana as other favorable host, however, it could not be proven in this results. Based on this results, the use of Musa sp.as intercrop or shade tree in coffee plantation has more risk to nematode attack than that of Citrus sp. called Kopi Buhun. Buhun Coffee is a type of Arabica coffee which is a single origin "special tea coffee". In developing Buhun coffee,   land is needed that can be planted with coffee. This land is not only a coffee plantation but can become a tourist attraction that can educate, increase recreation and protect the environment besides that it can economically increase the income of residents around agrotourism. In general, the land of Lake Sunyayuri, Cimarias Village, Pamulihan District, Sumedang Regency is an area that has the potential to become a tourist spot with an artificial lake, and a panoramic view of the hills surrounding the lake with a beautiful and calming atmosphere. The productivity of Indonesian coffee is still low compared to the potential that can be increased. The need for plantation land, especially coffee, is still lacking. Utilization of abandoned forest areas in areas with coffee potential can still be carried out, including utilizing the Pamulihan Cekdam area. What is the form of the Sumedang Coffee Agrotourism design in utilizing the existing potential into plantation tourism that provides interesting tourist experiences, recreational facilities, and social interaction as well as coffee education for visitors and the community about how to cultivate coffee from nurseries to products that can be enjoyed and provide a source of income for local communities while preserving the environment?

Abstract The productivity of Arabica coffee in the Gayo Highlands, Aceh, Indonesia is far below its potential because of climate change and inadequate agricultural practices. To develop a strategy on sustainable coffee yield and improvements of smallholder farming systems, we investigated coffee productivity in three classes of shade densities and three classes of total management intensities index (TMI) along six altitude gradients (1,000–1,600 m above sea level) over 234 farmers’ plots. Coffee productivity was significantly affected by altitude, shade density, and TMI. Our results showed a stronger positive altitudinal effect with coffee productivity in middle and higher altitudes than in lower altitudes and were related to shade density and TMI. Increasing elevation of coffee plantation from lower to middle altitudes and shade from low to medium density increased in coffee productivity but further increase to higher altitude seemed to depress coffee productivity. Increasing TMI positively increased coffee productivity across altitudes. Shade density and TMI played significant roles in coffee productivity in lower altitudes; therefore, coffee farmers have to increase the shade to medium or higher density and at the same time improve plantation management to medium or high TMI.

A research to evaluate the difference of damage levels caused by two species nematodes, Radopholus similis and Pratylenchus coffeae on Arabica and Robusta coffee which were planted in the same endemic area have been conducted at Kalibendo (700 m asl. climate type B) and Blawan coffee estate (1200 m asl., climate type D) for two years. The results showed that in the medium highland (700 m asl.) R. similis attacked Arabica coffee with necrotic root scale higher than surface Robusta coffee. Distribution of R. similis population in the 50 cm depth below soil surface was likely with their root distribution. On the other hand P. coffeae in 30 cm depth below soil therefore their resistance to R. similis was more likely due to the escape reason, as result of their different distribution population of those species in different depth. Abstrak. Arthropoda merupakan filum yang paling dominan di antara filum hewan lainnya jika ditinjau dari keanekaragaman, penyebaran, dan jumlah spesiesnya. Pada pertanaman kopi arabika terdapat arthropoda yang berperan sebagai herbivor, musuh alami, serangga penyerbuk, serangga netral, dan dekomposer. Secara umum, tindakan pengelolaan yang dilakukan oleh petani pada pertanaman kopi di Desa Atang Jungket Kabupaten Aceh Tengah adalah dengan menggunakan pestisida sintetik tanpa mempedulikan kondisi agroekosistemnya. Supaya agroekosistem kopi tetap stabil dan berkelanjutan, maka perlu dilakukan tindakan pengelolaan yang ramah lingkungan yaitu dengan menggunakan perangkap warna dimana proses penemuan inang serangga didasari oleh faktor visual yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui warna perangkap yang disukai oleh arthropoda pada areal pertanaman kopi arabika. Pada penelitian ini digunakan metode purposive sampling (ditetapkan) dengan luas lahan 5.000 yang berjumlah 138 tanaman, kemudian dibagi menjadi empat petak secara berjajar. Setiap petak diambil 20 tanaman sampel dengan menggunakan perangkap warna merah, kuning, hijau, dan putih. Peubah yang diamati meliputi komposisi dan kelimpahan arthropoda berdasarkan warna perangkap, indeks similaritas famili antar warna perangkap, serta kepadatan relatif Famili Scolytidae. Hasil penelitian  menunjukkan bahwa arthropoda yang ditemukan berjumlah 2.062 individu yang terdiri dari 2 kelas, 12 ordo, dan 72 famili. Ordo Hymenoptera merupakan ordo dengan jumlah individu paling banyak. Perangkap warna kuning merupakan paling banyak memerangkap arthropoda yaitu 552 individu dibandingkan perangkap warna merah, hijau, dan putih yang masing-masingnya hanya 547 individu, 527 individu, dan 436 individu. Nilai indeks similaritas famili arthropoda antar warna perangkap tergolong rendah berarti keragaman famili yang menyusun komunitas tersebut tinggi. Kepadatan Famili Scolytidae berjumlah 0,02 individu/m2 dan kepadatan relatif 0,04%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan tanah dan tanamannya secara ekologis masih menguntungkan, tidak mengancam keberlangsungan budi daya tanaman.Preference of Arthropod to Color of Trap on Arabica Coffee Plantation in Atang Jungket Village Aceh Tengah DistrictAbstract. Arthropods are the most dominant phylum among other animal phyla when viewed from the diversity, distribution, and number of species. In arabica coffee plantation there arthropods that act as herbivor, natural enemies, pollinating insects, neutral insects, and decomposers. In general, the management actions carried out by farmers on coffee plantations in Atang Jungket Village, Central Aceh District is to use synthetic pesticides regardless of agro-ecosystem condition. For coffee agro-ecosystem to remain stable and sustainable, it is necessary to do an environmentally friendly management action that is by using color trap where the process of invention of insect host is based on visual factor which aim to know color of trap were liked by arthropod  in arabica coffee plantation area. This research uses purposive sampling method with 5,000  land area of 138 plants, then divided into four plots in a row. Each plot was taken 20 sample plants using red, yellow, green, and white traps. The observed variables include the composition and abundance of arthropods based on the trap color, the family similarity index between the trap colors, and the relative density of the Scolytidae Family. The results showed that the arthropods were 2,062 individuals consisting of 2 classes, 12 orders, and 72 families. The Hymenoptera Order is the order of the largest number of individuals. The yellow trap is the most arthropod trap of 552 individuals compared to the red, green, and white traps of 547 individuals, 527 individuals and 436 individuals each. The value of the arthropod family similarity index between the trap colors is low, meaning that the diversity of families that make up the community is high. The Scolytidae Family density was 0.02 individuals/m2 and the relative density was 0.04%. This indicates that the management of land and plants are ecologically still profitable, not threatening the sustainability of cultivation of crops.
